A perfect run would be the only highlight of an extremely boring 450 class/season. The rest of rhe field is already mentally beaten, the only way Jett won't do this is via a mechanical issue.
A walk in the park is always bad for the sport.
Did some of y'all not catch High Point?
A perfect season does not automatically mean boring races and runaways.
F the season; first ever undefeated premier class career. Stamp it.
Just happy to witness the magic that is he and his motorcycle. As I was with MC, RC, Bubba, Vilo, RD, Eli...

That's the spirit ol fruit. There are two things going on in the 450 class.
One is the fight for 2nd which is a awesome tight group of good dudes...then mix in a few awesome privateer dudes and you have a sweet race for 2nd in the Championship.
Then we have Jett who never saw it coming, he never planned for it but with each week the possibility of a Perfect Season is becoming more real.... unplanned, yet he must be thinking about it by now. It'll look good on da ol Resume' but the thought of a PS has baggage....it'll bring pressure and unnecessary risk to the big goal.
The ball is in Jett's court and I'd like to see him get it done. Either way he will cash them cheques
There is more.... the series will see more of Roczen and there will be a few guys returning from injury that may push Jett out of his cruise mode and onto the edge....
I doubt Sexton will challenge Jett...Honda will see to that behind closed doors - disclaimer- my opinion.
Carmichael is the fucking GOAT and McGrath is the fucking King and Jett is a very long way off the records. So relax boys, if the Aussie gets it done this year he still has a long way to go and next year will determine his trajectory more accurately than this season.
Nevertheless, it's a brutal yet beautiful sport and we all only live once. Enjoy it, regardless of this years outcome.
Some battling would be nice but six of the eight motos really haven’t been competitive at all. It’s just not interesting to watch IMO.
Since 2016
It would be cool if he wins the title ,I'm selfish and want the title to come down to the last race ,strictly for my entertainment. If he goes perfect that title will handed out long before the last round.
Totally agree. He hasn't achieved greatness yet but it looks like every ingredient is in the oven...he may just serve up a masterpiece.
Anyway you look at it...his future is pretty limitless... moto, F1, broadcast, anything.
Anyone who doesn't want to see history being made truly doesn't love the sport.
That being said if someone beats him real close to the end it will be exciting as all get out.
I like seeing history being made no matter what. I live in Florida but I'm a Detroit Tigers fan and a few years ago I was lucky enough to catch a game on tv and a pitcher had a perfect game in the 9th inning with two outs. For what should have been the final batter he was called safe on a soft infield hit where you can see on replay that he was clearly out, it wasn't even close. This would have ended the game, and guys were already starting to celebrate. The next day the first base ump admitted he blew the call. The guy was robbed of getting one of only what would be 24 perfect games in history. The point I'm making is that even though it sucked for the pitcher I got lucky enough to see history being made. Think about how rare a perfect game is if 30 teams play 162 games a year and MLB has been around for over a hundred years. Only one pitcher in the entire history of MLB was robbed of a perfect game by one blown call.
I’m far from a Jett Lawrence hater…but I’m a realist, and he won’t have a 100% perfect season. Sexton is coming…and others are on their way.
Dungey won 19 total moto wins out of 24 in his rookie season..
But side note, Jett is a Hybrid version of our favorite riders combined.
Fucking mutant is more like it
Records are meant to be broken
Seems to be fine after previous years when a rider had a perfect season, why would it be any different now ??????
No I absolutely don’t root for him to win at all. That’s the beauty of sports. It’s crazy that a lot of people on here seem to root for everyone.
He’s so lucky Barcia and Anderson are hurt, they would’ve taken him out at least three times by now.
More talent than Eli Tomac? Eli Tomac? He won the first National he ever raced, you remember that right?
Pit Row
Agreed. High point has been the highlight so far.
Just like most polls on here, you're answers suck. If you vote no, it's because you're a salty American? That's the only reason you could possibly vote no?
I think DF14 might start feeling it soon. The guy is an animal when he is on. AC9 has the speed and with a few more weeks his speed will increase. But Jets speed will increase too as the season moves on which is actually mind boggling to think about. JB51 will also be back and he just can't help himself to take out someone if he can't beat him straight up.... I think there is more drama too come, CAN'T WAIT!!!
I do! I watched that race and have been a fan of him since. I’m not talking about 2010 Eli, or 2015 Eli. I think at this point in their perspective careers Sexton has more raw speed, but he’s also a basket case so it depends on the day.
How could someone possibly not agree that it’s a weak field?
Tomac, Sexton, Anderson, Craig and Barcia. There is your top 5 at the final MX round last year. Every single one of them is out. Plessinger is the only rider who finished inside the top 10 in points last year who’s currently racing.
That’s pretty weak.
Haha what when he's lapping them lol
What do you think 2008 was, James Stewart when he had a perfect season, his strongest competition was Andrew Short, Brock Hepler, Tim Ferry and Jeff Alessi, good riders, but not exactly Barn burners, but I'd consider that an even weaker field than what Jett Lawrence is racing today.
How do you measure strength of the field?
Anderson, Craig and Barcia don't have a single outdoor title between them, and only one 450SX title.
Ferrandis, Webb, Cianciarulo and Plessinger between them have 4 x 250MX and 1 x 450MX title, plus Webb has 2 450SX titles.
Those three guys ( Anderson, Craig, Barcia) wouldn't be doing anything more than filling out the top ten. Does that make the field stronger if instead of 4 guys who are 30 secs to a minute behind there are 7 guys who are still that far behind first?
What I find crazy is grown adult men blatantly not wanting someone to win in a sport like ours (I can't say rooting in this context as it means something else entirely in Australia)
Wanting a certain person to win or being happier when they do is one thing but it just seems dumb to want someone to not win or is unhappy when they do..
The worst season of racing continues from SX to MX. Boring AF.
The annoying coverage of the loRRents brothers is the cherry on the top.
I'm not trying to say it isn't weak. But I don't think your point is that great.
The top 5 last year are not here this year.
But the top 5 this year were not there last year.
So both years had only 5 factory riders at some stage.
The main difference is there was 2 elite guys. 30 seconds up the track. If 1 of those were not there it's the same as this season.
Chase, Eli, jett
Big gap. And the other 7 are all pretty much the same
