Deegan has dropped a few rungs on my ladder with

I’ve got no problem with a rider racing hard and fighting for position but these guys know what that looks like and what it doesn’t. We do need the Anderson, Barcia, and Deegan types of riders in this sport. However, he needs to realize he has a lot of years and try’s for championships left to race alongside people that can ruin that for you because you raced them like a douche. 

This thread is entertaining for sure. I guess any of you that would be in the same position as where Deegan is in now would do things much differently? I guess that's why none of you are where Deegan is at lol. 

Meh, Hunter did a shit move and punted Shimoda at the last race of 22' at Pala. It was dirty and Shimoda was very lucky not to be injured by Hunters move. 

The only reason people care is because it’s precious Hunter Lawrence he was battling with and He’s not a saint himself, I hope they find each other more during the season. That was one of the best parts of the race yesterday. At least someone is trying to get in hunters head for this title. Neither of them crashed so to me it was just aggressive racing. 

Deegan is in front of him he controls the track he can ride where ever the fuck he wants right? The veteran 24 year old that has been racing a 250 since he was 15 years old almost ten years of racing a 250f should have  no problem going around a rookie that was just on a supermini barely two years ago. A wise Australian once said Harden the Fuck up! This is motocross!!! It’s a contact sport and you’re losing respect for a 17 year old rookie that didn’t even make contact it only bugs you if you’re Lawrence fan hahaha 

I know the Rookie excuse can wear thin, but it is still his rookie season...

Hopefully he learns, kids been strong, just needs to harness the attitude / emotion, but he's still young.

Yes, I am familiar with the work you are referencing that was written as self care for entrepreneurial females. I’m not seeing the correlation; especially when considering the high probability that the intended audience was not professional motocross nor was it the inspiration. What’s interesting is the title itself is actually a paradox. I’m not sure what intent you fell short on by posting the synopses, but it did little to change the most accepted definition of the word today. The original post I quoted is still a paradox. I'm guessing by the podium interview, it wasn't that big of a deal to Hunter because he knew exactly what to expect from the kid. It's racing and sometimes you have to deal with assholes. He handled him easily because he knew what to expect and was clearly faster. I hope Deegan sits down and watches the video, listens to his mentors, and learns from this. The series is better with him in it. Especially if he races clean and waxes everyone. 

My bigger question is which side of the Ferrandis/Plessinger crash? Who is at fault?

1.Plessinger 2. Ferrandis 3. Racing incident

In my opinion Ferrandis ultimately. He started the crash all on his own long before Aaron got there. For him to imply otherwise is silly. BUT....I do think Aaron made a bad choice of lines to avoid danger, albeit in a microsecond. So my opinion is #3. Racing incident, nothing intended by either guy, yet both riders made an error that resulted in a crash.

"I like racing like that."  If you don't like it/him he don't care, only been repeated more times than I can count.

Having your head on a swivel and aiming is not racing. I guess it worked though, Deegan tied Lawrence up for what, a lap? 4-5 seconds? That let JCoop get away.

Cross jumping is never ok.  Kid is fast, just race forward.    

I like how the 2 people with majority of the top knowledge in this sport and probably top 3%  even ON this forum get the most down votes lol.  thats what worries me more and more about this sport as we go man.... damn.

Just watched the race. Deegan won’t win championships with that BS, you can’t win looking behind yourself.
 

No rider has ever been better equipped and coached from birth that I’m aware of, he’s only held back by his mentality at this point. Maybe a sports psychologist could help him make the last steps to become a champ..

Funny you bring that up I used to live with a top am. And a sports psychologist was a game changer for him. Didn’t really train didn’t put in too many laps but had the talent and then when he had the mental edge it was in real. 

If anyone’s been paying attention, he’s been doing this kinda stuff(look backs especially) since 85s.

The kids got talent, there is no need for that punk riding. Hopefully someone in his camp can talk some sense in to him. You walk around the racetrack, and there is a ton of support for him. He is obviously extremely marketable, but juvenile thuggery, and goon riding will quickly tarnish that image. He has been showing bits and pieces of a bad attitude since SX, I really hope for his sake his camp can tone it down.

Riding like that usually gets "worked out" eventually all on its own by other riders self policing.  Someone isn't going to care for it and they going to punt him into 2024.  The comparison to that riding (and the Deegan family drama) is so similar to Mike Alessi when he was blocking Dungey (and the family drama around Mike and his dad) is uncanny.  And I don't think the Alessi's or Deegans are bad people.  Just saying family drama and the riding styles were amazingly similar.
