ML asked that the name not be posted here (yet.) easy to find on the Internet/Twitter. Not Axell.

Thank you.  Just waking up and not a twitter guy but I'll figure it out.  Shit sucks.

Was a couple posts about it last night. ML said he was locking the threads. Didn’t want name released. I’m sure we’ll hear something today. Terrible news, thoughts go out to families affected. 🙏

Damn, that's really sad to hear.  He was an absolutely incredible BMX rider and I believe has a young son, kills me to hear about this happening.

Authorities are looking into a motorcyclist’s death at a Ramona X Games freestyle motocross track on Tuesday, according to law authorities. Let’s see what happened to Pat Casey in detail.

Why would you want to see what happened in detail?  The guy lost his life and the jumps out there are beyond massive.  Pretty clear what happened....

thats from the article, not necessarily from zman - and i'd imagine there is a large amount of sick people that would want to see the video if there was one

If there was a video link posted, everyone would click on it.  Everyone watched the long distance jumper crash to his death not too long ago.  As sad as it is, It's just human nature to have that curiosity.  RIP young father of two Pat Casey.

^^^  This.

Watched Fastest Woman on Earth documentary about Jessi Combs.   I couldn't believe it, but they showed the in cockpit footage of her crash and the burning wreckage aftermath.     Heartbreaking....she was such an awesome person.

Prayers to Pat Caseys family and friends...

BMX community is pretty shook up over this.
Pat Casey is a big name in that world.

What a bummer. Thoughts with his family.

I probably wouldn't.  That shit sticks with you.

15 or 20 years ago I watched a video online of a freestyle guy who did a jump into a vertical net (I think this was in a stadium in Miami).  He was supposed to grab onto the net.  But instead, he bounced off the net and fell to his death.  (It was a terrible stunt design if I remember correctly.)  I still get creeped out thinking about it.

You're right it sticks with you. I was there in Miami and watched that guy bounce off the net, I was like 6 years old at the time and I still think about it almost 30 years later. Seeing traumatic incidents and/or death in person or video can be really gnarly for a lot of people. I hope there is no video released unless for whatever reason that is what Pat's family desires.

RIP Pat Casey, he was awesome to watch on a bike, really sad to loose such a talented guy.

We don’t know what happened. Pat mostly rode pit bikes in the videos I saw.

I second this. Given the size and nature of the jump lines at the slayground it would be easy to jump to a conclusion about the circumstances, but no matter what the details are its a tragedy. Thoughts to the guys at the compound and to those close to Pat.

Pat had a KXF big bike he has been riding there with Axle and hitting some 60+ foot ramp jumps on.

ML was very fast to lock these threads last night after the name of Pat was known and the local news outlets had already reported the age and sex of the deceased on air.

RIP Pat Casey. Just watched him ride a comp recently...

Word is he cased a 75 ft jump and the bike hit him. You take the bottom of the frame rails, or a foot peg, to the wrong spot and it doesn't take much to end things. Word also is Axell performed CPR for at least 10 to 15 minutes before the paramedic showed up. Those two are close and I can't imagine how terrible that must have been. 😥

That's some secondhand information from someone who was there and who knows what the actual details are. Either way it sucks and I have no interest in seeing a video of it.

I used to work for one of his major sponsors, and when he just got signed he would always come by the office. He was about 18-19 years old and just firing off. Super nice kid and we went to a couple of lunches together and would say what up at the big parties. A few of my friends knew him really well from the BMX scene and yeah it's a big thing over there for those guys he was very well respected. Last night it was already being reported by the big BMX sites and by this morning it was on every single global BMX outlet. Japan, Spain, Brazil, it is literally everywhere right now he was a superstar in BMX.

I was actually flying over the compound at around 5,000 ft, and was wondering why there were so many vehicles down there and a sheriff's helicopter circling right below us.

Ride easy Pat.

I don't see how Axell won't be completly messed up from this for a while. That's such such a sad sad situation all around.

He seemed like such a good dude. He was so fun to watch on a bmx. He could do big circus flip/whip tricks but also get tech with his freecoaster.

RIP Pat
