What has helped me
Counter steer. When coming into a turn slowly counter steer the bike for the bank
Slow and easy, don't full throttle everywhere. Carry speed let off, counter steer align then gas it.
On straights, lean back, but only slightly
Spend some time in the lobby, check out the SX jumps and the whoops. Left and right of the Freestyle jumps.
The 250 seems easier (for me) to control. Start with that.
you can initiate a turn with the reflex stick, follow up with the steering stick.
Slow down some, all in all it sounds like you are trying to go too fast. My fastest time was done by carrying speed and placing the bike where I wanted it. Granted the other riders are spodes and will hit you just let the pack go and think smooth.
See if that helps.

Motodave, sorry I don't have the answer. Triton may know?
Im glad the boost crap is out also!!!
A few things that stick out:
- I love that you have to actually be smart about what lines you take. That's awesome.
- I can't believe you are still able to jump the start, hit the gate and STILL get the holeshot. I've done it several times against the AI. If you hit the gate before it drops, you should get stuck in it and be dead last.
- If you go through the trouble of getting Ricky Carmichael on the game, why not at least use his famous, oversized, #4? The #4 that is used looks awful. (Same goes for any pro in the game. RC is just my example since he's the rider in the demo.)
- Bike sounds still don't sound right. While maybe a tad bit better then Untamed, they still don't sound as good as Unleashed did.
This is not the case against the more difficult AI
Has anyone played it on Xbox and PS3 (demo)?
My wife and I played it on both last night, and we weren't sure but it seemed like on PS3 the ruts were much less forgiving, but really cool when you got your lines dialed.
Xbox owns the graphics (as always).
I couldn't really tell, I just wanted to get your guys take on it.
I love this game. I can't believe you guys are pulling down 55's!!! That is awesome. I'm still acclimating to the new controls but I thought my 59 was good LOL! You guys must be gapping 2nd pretty good.
Im also really really stoked to rip the SX track, especially with the new reflex control, 180 turns are so much more realistic.
Can't wait for the full release!
If you are looking for your ps3 to also be your blue ray player then the ps3 is right up your alley. I'm not sure, some other guys here can help out, but Im pretty sure xbox is 1080, and PS3 is 720. Only reason I'm sharing is you noted you wanted to fully test your HD tv. Either system, this game is sick!
Pit Row
I've been playing these games for quite sometime [MCM1 circa '99], and use to the fastest lines stuck out like a sore thumb to me, I guess because of my years of playing them, along with watching racing in real life. In all the other games, cornering was a piece of cake. So I really love the fact that cornering is so technical in this game. It's also really incredible how easily you can get into trouble by riding over your head (just like in real life). I think it's going to take a real expert at this game to be able to ride aggressively, and go faster. Thus far, the faster I try to go - the slower I go. My fastest lap was a 58.9 on the 250F. Most of the time i'm in the 60 second range.
I just hope I'll be able to whip it somewhat decent someday without looking like a goon. I haven't really figured that out. What are some tips for some good whips? In the old untamed game, i would whip it, hit the brake to give it that realistic gyro effect, then pin it, and straighten out.
WAY TO GO RAINBOW!
ps.
Does anyone know if the same group of guys who made MCM1 made this game, or how many people are left from the original crew, and if they developed the last game? My son Bobby's friend says that games these days have different sets of developers that alternate off each year.
I think they did an outstanding job on this game..Im not much of a consule game player, I played motocross madness until MVA came out in 05' for the PC.. This game would be unreal with user made tracks..Doing the whips over the finish line are priceless lol
This game is loads of fun
