Three years. That’s how long it took to finally receive this bike back from Watts Perfections. This was Chad’s statement on PulpMX:
“To me, the trickest bike I’ve ever built to this day, not including Carmichael’s perfect season bike or Des Nations bike Etc., was the one I finished about four months ago. The ‘83 Mugen HRC 125 Honda. Everything was handmade on it. Now that bike was trick! It has the one piece air box/subframe, it had the lowboy gas tank like Bailey and them had, it had the 44mm Fox Forx on it, hand made swingarm. I put all titanium on it, crankshaft, transmission… I had 420 hours in that thing. It’s the trickest bike I’ve ever built in my life.”

The bike is in good hands and is leaving this morning. The 2nd trickest bike I’ve ever owned.

What a work of art. Incredible.
So, Mark, did Chad say goodbye, did you say good bye, or are you selling?
I sold. It’s on its way in about 15 minutes.
Looks fresher than that CR85 in a crate.

You should have sent that to me to ride at Zoar!
Wow.
That would be like breaking up with Anna Nicole of the Guess jeans era.
I thought you had, but who knows how may cool bikes you have? (Well, besides you!).
Very cool bike. If I ever hit the lottery or my wife divorces me and leaves me any money, I will hunt down a project 83 CR480 and send it to you to work your magic. ,.......for the record you will probably never hear from me about this project but there is always hope lol.
I’ve really thinned the herd, Michael. 7 left and they’re pretty much all for sale.
Oh man , not gonna lie....I'd be shedding a few tears if that was leaving my stable. That has to be one of the most beautiful machine's I have ever seen. Meant to be ridden I know.....but dang, that sucker would be hanging on my shop wall. Or my living room!
Belongs in the Louvre...
The greatest era....no contest.
I cant even imagine being the dude who gets to say that is "only" the second most trick bike they've owned... Awesome 👍

Chad Watts put 420 hours into that bike! Holy job security!
That's amazing work.
Thanks! Those pictures just made my day.
Yep, that’s top shelf moto porn!
Bahahaha... Good pull.
Pit Row
420 hours of Chad Watts' time cannot be cheap. At $100 hr that's obviously $42k and I'd think he can fetch more than that. And that's before we get to the hardware.
From the pictures that looks like the best restoration I've ever seen. Very impressive. You should be very proud of your attention to detail.
Wicked cool bike.
Am I crazy, or is the front wheel offset toward the clutch side?
I think that the camera is just slightly to the left of center. If you compare what you are able to see of the fork wipers, it looks like the person with the camera isn't quite on center. Could be wrong.
Were you ever brave enough to ride it on a track? Or was it just too nice to risk anything getting dirty/damaged? I think that if I owned that, I could never justify riding it, but it would eat at me nearly daily. I'd need 2 of them just to satisfy my yearnings......!
