There was a interview with herlings out there I think he was on 4-5 million a year  it said ( could be wrong )  he’s definitely the highest in mxgp , I would assume that includes bonus’s and everything but again not certain

Should be around the same. Heard he opted out of a monster contract because his fanclub is so big in Slovenia, so that should be a good revenue as well

Lewis said on one VitalMX podcast that Honda doesn't want Gajser to have an Energy Drink deal, they want the "full Honda HRC" look for their MXGP team, therefore Honda is paying him an extra in his contract that covers what Monster Energy offered him.

Jett signed a 4-5 year deal with Honda starting in 2022. U would have to imagine that's more then a mill per season.

I do know on RC’s Whiskey Throttle episode GL asked him what he made in his best year. It was 2006 and he made 9 Million. That’s everything, but still. 9 million in 2006 would be like 12-13 million today.

Between RC & James…and during this period thru/up to the contracts that were ending around 2008/2009…they were making bank.

In 2006, RC was on the Makita Suzuki with Fox, Oakley and whatever that boot he was wearing was called…? …all those wins & championship bonuses back then…could have easily added up.

KR’s current opportunities…including his Fox & Red Bull deals…give him a chance to earn a really good amount of money in the current era of MX/SX. Everything KR is doing is simply “wise”.

So on one of the recent VitalMX post race shows, ML said he heard the rumors surrounding the 3 year deal for KR to race WSX, paying something along the lines of $1.5M for year one, $2.0M for year two and $2.5M for year 3.

I know in the RC/Stew/Reed days there were some big money contracts but a single contract for that much money seems pretty up there? I’m sure he’s being paid by gear companies and such as well. Any ideas on the high paid contracts in the states or even the GPs for these elite guys?

And yes, this is only on my mind because I wish he was racing outdoors instead. Grinning

Rc contract was for something like 10 mill? Over 2 yrs but that was including bonuses etc. I think he was guaranteed something like 1-3 mil each year.

KR's might have the most guaranteed

Imagine if RC let people rev his bike back then!$$$$🙃

You act like you wouldn’t sign the paper to race at 60% and still likely be the champion. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Absolutely can’t blame Roczen for going this route, even as frustrating as it may be as a fan of motocross.

Definitely feels like a ripcord move by WSX but with Webb now out, I don’t know how it could possibly be a competitive field. We are spoiled here in the US so perhaps there is a profitable model here but it sure doesn’t seem sustainable at the moment.

Maybe you missed the part where I said the money was great. Clearly he never measured up to a premier SX title, so a B league it is. MONEY IS GREAT! Yes, I think most would do the same.

No I didn't miss it. It was just clearly throwing shade at KR and besides the point of the thread.

It is shade, why wouldn't it be. The truth is what it is. Swingers get whine all they want.

Didn’t know that! Weird because all HRC riders in the USA (except Nichols) have them

At this stage of a career probably. He's a good brand ambassador, too, and that could draw money to his team.

If they dish out this kinda of money, that’s bad news for the Nationals. It only needs another 3 or 4 top riders going WSX and there’s nobody left racing the 450 nationals..

Yeah, it made sense for him to walk away from HRC when they blocked him from racing the WSX series (STUPID move by Honda!), and going to an underdog OEM like Suzuki. Kenny did pretty great in the 2023 SX series on a “old fashioned” bike…and will probably win the WSX title again.

Stamp this: Ken Roczen is no idiot.

That's because it's not exactly 100% accurate

Not sure anyone saw Berik money, or all owed anyway.  Some didn't.  I saw a contract and it required disputes to be resolved according to Chinese law in China to enforce payment.  Maybe other agents did better.

you do understand why Honda "Blocked him" eh??..actually more correctly their contract for him excluded WSX...but call it blocking if it suits your agenda
