Daniel Blair announced on his DB's Live Deep Dive on the Main Event Moto Patreon page that he has officially resigned from his announcing role and all other roles with Supercross. DB discussed how Feld and Supercross gave him an opportunity to get into tv with the Arenacross series and how appreciative he is for that. He reflected on his feelings towards the job he did for them and his enthusiasm for what's to come working with KTM and Orange Brigade. He also told the listeners that he is joining the ownership of the training facility, Next Level 101, where he'll be taking over as the head coach/trainer/programer. As much as I'm disappointed to not see my friend on tv Saturday nights, I know DB will succeed in anything he does. I believe his talent will be missed, though. He helped elevate the program and brought a high level of information and feedback each and every week. In his very limited opportunities in the booth he was an absolute pro and crushed it. I'd like to say more, but out of respect, I won't. Watch for the official announcement on the SMX Insider show tomorrow. Let me know your thoughts. Will DB be missed? Where did he rank as a commentator? What do you want out of the commentators?

say it. we have too many jabronis in the booth (except JS7) and DB styled on everyone.
i guess its the travel, but im really surprised he dropped the dream. he's too good.
He did a great job IMO.
He's a natural behind the mic.
Will miss him for sure.

no more blairs breakdown...........WTF!
daniel was terrific...a complete natural with a mic in his hand....missing his sense of humour already.
He was awesome, by far the best in a long time and will be sorely missed. Maybe we can bring Bailey back in to plug the gap!
So sorry to hear. DB and Jim Holley killed it on RDL. First Jim left and now Daniel. RDL will not be the same
I think Blair was the best one in the whole announcing crew .
Blair should of been the fulltime play by play this year. He definitely got screwed over again. Todd harris has zero business in that booth. Leah does good but hes just not a moto guy. You know what? This is weeges fault.
This is a huge loss for us fans. He’s been one of my favorite guys for a long time and does such a great job. He deeply loves this sport and it comes through every time.
Good luck!
Huge loss
Damn that sucks for us, but he’s been juggling a ton so hopefully it’s for the best for him and his family. He should have been the full time play by play commentator for SX.
I’ll definitely miss DB in the booth, and on the whole broadcast. He brought a lot of enthusiasm, and his wealth of knowledge was unreal. 👍
Love this! He's put himself in a position of leverage now. Nice move DB!!
RDL really went downhill when Holley left.
Now Blair. Ughhh...
Wow- I didn't see this coming. It seemed like he poured his life into getting to where he is in the announcing world. Well, good for him.
Well that blows
This sucks for the broadcast but seems like great guy and glad he's still heavily invested in the sport. He has hinted at this on pulp or some other podcast recently, talking about the training facility. Guessing there's more to the story and hopefully the door stays open for him to return in the future if he wants to.
Pit Row
They should run a comp to get some v'tard super fans in the booth for race day live - and when they clearly dominate - maybe a race or 2
Wonder if it's the travel and time away from his family? He was great and it was crazy how fast he adapted. He was good from show #1.
Damn this really sucks but at the same time I'm super stoked for DB. Couldn't happen for a nicer guy, he's busted his ass and has incredible work ethic. We grew up in the same area but I don't think I've ever met him, he'd be an awesome dude to just chill and have a beer with. All the best to DB, he's a great dude.
He was the best guy on the announcement team, bummer.
don't blame him, his ktm deal is pretty big deal...and way better job....kudos to db, hes good....but he'll be more successful with the ktm gig.
Blair was the best trackside reporter I’ve seen in supercross. Our loss, but I’m sure he’ll excel in his new endeavours.
Daniel was clearly trusted by the riders and the teams as he would walk through the pits having fun and poking at everybody. He could sit at press day with riders waiting to ride and everyone was really genuine. He was a natural with the mic and has a great sense of humor that will be missed big time. - DWS
Wasnt it mentioned here (ML?) that he did the breakdowns as his own thing, not paid for that..? Insane.
Blair was “real”. He’d been there and done that…and was one of the very, very few that were articulate enough on-mic to provide detailed information without ever sounding scripted or contrived. I don’t think he felt appreciated, and was probably hugely underpaid for what he contributed. I don’t blame him for backing away, and getting out of that situation. He’ll be missed.
Yes that's right. He wasn't paid for Blair's Breakdown at all. He did it on his own.
The wrong Dan quit.
Blairs breakdown was the best
