Who Should be Announcing Supercross? | POLL

Put Reed in the booth sometimes.  His insights are excellent.

Also, would love to have David Bailey back in the booth.

Poll is flawed, Michael. It needs a MC option- he is the most natural on-camera of any retired champion.

The hate for Diffey and Harris is always wild to me.  They’ve been commentating the sport, at least part time, since the early 2000s.

Rc and bubba are hard to listen to honestly. Not being mean but basic English should be a requirement. So I’ll throw in jt on the floor, weege and db in the booth. This changes if the Zulu warrior wants to come back. He was the best. Loved the way he broke down what the rider was doing etc. when he acted like he was on the bike calling brakes and shifting, so great. 

I like diffey. He brings a level of professionalism.

I think if there was any option that had Weege as the “play-by-play” guy, then that would win the poll. I appreciate DB and even Diffey, but Weege is the best play-by-play guy that we have currently in our sport, and Feld/SX just refuse to give him a chance at being “the guy”. So confusing, especially now since everything is under the SMX umbrella.

DB, JS, and RC would be my choice. Stew and Ricky make each other better IMO. 

Leigh, JS, And RC would be a close second 

Highly doubt many on this forum are going to vote for anything including Diffey, or even Harris (though he does a good job). ML, you need to start over with other combos that include Weege, or even Glover.  Personally, I'd take Weege, Blair, Stew.

As Eric Stratton would say, since the announcers are not announcing the race they see but the camera views that the TV production team selects, isn't this a challenge of the TV team instead of the announcers?

Agree with Titan1. Announce the race! Leave the "looks like he has put in the work" and other true support words as fill in not replacement for announcing the actual race as it is happening. We watch to see this live actual announcing of the race would be great.

Personally prefer DB, RC , JS.  I really like RC and JS together.  A good number of folks are good with Weege being in the mix...for me, Weege is a good dude but I personally don't care for the way his delivery comes across at times as being a bit on spazzy side.  Yeah, I know, that's a technical term to describe what I don't care for. Something about his speech pattern that I'm not wild about but it's clear he has a lot of fans that appreciate his delivery.

Sorry, as great a racer that RC was, he’s only a novice announcer who I find annoying because he states the obvious, and he repeats himself week in and week out. His announcing to me is so bad in fact, I usually end up muting the races. 

just because they've been doing it a long time doesn't mean there good at it. it actually makes it worse that they're still this bad. especially Todd.

RC and bubba have good chemistry if the producer would just stay out of their ears. Just let them call it as they see it with no story lines and drama. The racing will Speak for itself

I agree with everything except for weege, he can be spazzy tho lol. But he’s a die hard fan and it shows with his enthusiasm 

Weege and Stew as regulars (the new Eckman and Bailey?!) and alternating between Blair, Carmichael, and JT as guests.

EXACTLY! DB and James hardly have any under their belt yet they are so much better than Ricky, Lee, or Todd.  

GRANT LANGSTON!! I know it’s never gonna happen but so many positives with that guy. His voice is easy to listen to, he is an experienced racer, and he is a man of the people!!! Him and DB would be fine until AC retires lol

I guarantee FELD/NBC see this poll and don’t care about how us fans feel. NBC think Ricky is a moto god and they think Lee is the man.  More or less NBC think they know better than us and we will see Lee and Ricky in the years to come.  I bet DB gets screwed out of the booth but has outgrown the floor.  I just hope we don’t lose DB all together next year.  

Diffey in the booth gives the sport credibility , based on the other huge event he does, even though he only does a few races, i enjoy the ones he does. 

I will say that Stew is a great addition, but he would not be as good if he were second chair every week, 

DB , Weege and Stew as a pure sports vote, but you need a proper TV guy as lead, IMO 

Lee is way worse than Ricky. There are so many times when Lee starts talking about riders personal lives in the middle of the race and Ricky has to steer the conversation back to what’s happening on track. When will the promoters learn that people will fall in love for the sport itself, and not all the fluff?? 

I don't care who the main guy is, but Stew should definitely be in there for the color commentary. He sees things like no other, and he's actually able to put thoughts into words quickly. 

Blair, Stew, & RC.  Easy decision for me.  Blair is excellent at play by play and the discussions between RC & Stew during the race explaining the "why" to things is awesome.  I have to admit it's kinda fun looking forward to the Ricky-isms but it can get annoying when he's the only color analyst. When he has someone like Stew to go back & forth with I don't even really notice any mistakes I'm too focused on what they're explaining. 

Weege as the main and anyone else.
