In the mid, yes. Go watch the qualifying race the day before when it was dry.
That was a year ago, 6 weeks on a 450 to debut and win a moto, not sure why we are talking a result like that meaning nothing, he debuted on the world stage stacked field from around the world and also against the best US riders.
Nothing to sneeze at.
I don’t know but I’m actually more excited for 250’s. Hopefully that field stays healthy haha
where tf is the 9? Hes a 10x better rider outdoors

Jett beat Sexton easily first time out on the 450 in Saturday's timed practise.
As well as beating Sexton and Ferrandis twice in the races, and waving as he passed, he also beat Cairolli and Tomac.
He is a formidable contender.
UpTite is not wrong.
I wouldn't say he easily beat Sexton in Open Free Practice.
Jett: 1:59.016
Sexton: 1:59.359
Time Difference: 0.343
He beat a retired Cairoli that admitted he wasn't on the same fitness training/riding program, so I don't think that says much.
I'm a fan, and I'm not discounting Jett because he has the skills to challenge for wins and the championship, but I'm not convinced it'll be the Sexton and Jett show all summer if Dylan shows up fit, and healthy.
Ferrandis won the Open Qualifying Race over both Sexton and Jett.
The results didn't show it, but he was also the fastest guy at the event. IMO, he shouldn't be left out of the conversation for wins and the championship. His starts were pretty good in 2021, and even if they're not up to par this summer, the field is looking thin to the point where any of the top guys who get bad starts should be able to move to the front fairly easily.
Either way, let's hope none of the remaining guys get hurt between SLC and the opener at Pala.
Not to be that guy, because I'll be there, but dammit I still hate Pala. Lol
Probably not a bad idea to get off Deegans nut sack, least give him a full year of racing
DF14 won the 450 title his first year, with a stacked field. Why not Jett with a weak field?
Yes, good point, if all goes well he can run towards the front.
Maybe not Sexton speed though.
I love this response and I have seen it multiple times.
Ppl saying jetts win didn't count coz it was muddy and the USA were just playing it safe to win the overall. (I believe that to be true for the 3rd moto. But not the 2nd.)
Then they proceeded to say look at the qualifying race to see the true picture.
If anything mx3 class (most teams have already qualified by this time) in a 20 min qualifying race is less of an indication of the way they will actually stack up.
No
Can we not at least get a few rounds into a championship that hasn't even started yet before you pencil in the winner. This time last week everyone thought Tomac was the supercross champ
I would say highly possible, not highly probable.
That's US riders what about Maxime Renoux who was also hauling ass which Jett just feel shy of.
Did u watch the race?
Kudos to renaux for winning.
Renaux got a 2nd place got into 1st coz ferrandis crashed.
Jett got about a 6th place start. Was about 10seconds behind. Got to 2nd and caught renaux. But ran out of tear off's and couldn't see. I think every who watched the race knew jett would have won if he didn't run out.
Yes I watched the race I watch everything, I avoided making excuses to avoid certain fans rubbing that part in, point was Renaux was hauling ass and Jett was with him.
Exactly.
Chase and Eli were going full throttle for both, entire motos last year.
And gapping the entire field behind them.
Nobody doubts Chase is capable of doing that all over again.
Ferrandis may be able to do that.
Time will soon tell.
Jett more than likely will need a bit of time to build that wide open, full 30min ×2 endurance.
(Hopefully not though)
Pit Row
Jett was lapping much faster than Renaux, caught him easily, ran out of tearoffs and sat back a couple of seconds. It was pissing rain and he'd done what he had to for the team, and won the individual. Smart.
cool so if we have a few wet/muddy outdoor rounds then Jett is the favourite?
Jett is certainly fast enough, the main problem I see is he isn't experienced being pushed the whole moto at his fastest pace. He's just been cruising it in the last couple years not riding on the edge, while Sexton had a whole summer on the edge last year.
Been around racing for a long time. Not saying Jett will dominate but he is the fastest rider since RV hit the scene to me. With Tomac out it will be Sexton and Jett for the championship. DF will battle for sure if healthy but man the 450 class compared to the 250 class will be a snooze fest.
This topic was clearly started by someone who didn't watch '22 outdoors. Tomac and Sexton raised the bar for speed. Lawrence can't ride a 450 that hard for 30 + 2 like they can. Definitely not right away.
Bullshit.
He has to make sure he’s stays healthy. Nothing guarantees any of these guys stay healthy all season even staying on 2 wheels as we just saw Saturday night. Revisit this topic after round 6 and then this can be discussed properly.
23, 14, 9 and 7 will have a welcome card for him.
You can pretty much say the same about Jett on a 450….
Chase can't ride that hard this year.
Last year will be remembered as a special year, the two best riders in the world pushing each other past their best.
Well if he rides like he did at MoN, they better send it express, cause he'll be gone!!
Nobody has addressed the elephant in the room yet. If you're Honda and the championship is coming down to Jett and Chase there's no way you let Chase take another #1 plate to KTM, right?
