Anyhow, let’s make it what it should be, up ‘n comer kids on 125’s, 16 and under. And so, it was written……3C568BC4-085F-4F23-BF83-0D7AE2240F3A

I’m good with all that except the 16 and under part. A lot of guys don’t get on sx until after 16.

I don't like the fact you can race a few pro races and then go back and do futures. I feel once you step up and race a pro race (SX or MX) you can't go back. The amateur system is broken in my book.

id say 15-open, as long as you have never attempted to qualify for a night show before. I also think if you had a "true" futures class, there should be salary caps and to an extent mod caps - no unobtanium allowed

If they have a points cap like the rules for outdoors it would be fine.  45 points and you cannot race Loretta's again in Outdoors, so make it the same to be consistent.  Sounds like Beaumer, Bennick, and Cochran will all be doing it again next year.

I am not sure it really matters though and I like having the extra races to watch.

I can see both sides of the coin.  Extra gate drops against the top competition would be good, but he's not going to be scoring a top 5 overall season finish most likely and the risk of him getting injured before the full outdoor season would go up at least a bit.

Mitch is in a bind as more 250 teams are gong to be allowing their riders to do gear/helmet/boot deals seperate to make more money. Mitch makes a ton from FOX but now will struggle to get top guys when they are unable to maximinze their earnings. Jo leaving will be a blow.

I think Beaumer would benefit from a bit more time on the KTM, and Cochran looks like he still has some growing to do/fitness to improve on, but for the life of me, I can't understand why Star is keeping Bennick in ams. I think if he and Ryder D were thrown to the wolves, so to speak, they'd both rise to the occasion just like Deegan has.

Maybe something like a claiming rule? That works well I've heard

Not only that but do a couple pro races and then go to LLs, DC really needs to have a round table with some outsiders to get perspective on the state of the sport. Amateur and pro.

Vital: Why is Ryder D wasting his time in futures?

Also Vital: Supercross is a meat grinder, we need to have a more cautious approach introducing supercross to young racers so they don't get injured repeatedly.

They’re “wasting” him there because he’s getting healthy, and two,  he’s had a lot of struggles with woops and it was exposed last year. They want him strong and ready when he moves up.

 It was a joint decision.

Hymas smoked Ryder D last year in SX Futures. And look how he did in SX this year. Best finish was a 6th. Ryder would do much worse, sorry to say. This kid doesn't look like he attacks the track when he rides.

edit: Its a no brainer why they're holding him back. He just plain doesn't have the speed yet. Not anything to be ashamed about. Kid will get his speed.

I believe Hymas and Ryder only went head-to-head twice last year in futures, each winning once. Hymas didn't exactly smoke him.

I don't blame them for keeping him down in futures though, especially after his injury.

What's your point? Bennick, Hawkins and Cochran all smoked Deegan in the first Futures race this year, but which of those four has a pro podium and heat race win now?

Nice 4786 sir. As for ryder d racing futures a second year is pretty lame. Honestly the whole futures concept is lame.

I think the concept is great, but the execution hasn't been the best.

He has had a few decent crashes in sx.

He pretty much has had 1 each race.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't race the last 3-4 sx races to avoid injury and to prepare early for mx.

Got ya…. I’ve been impressed by Vialle’s SX effort as nearly a complete rookie, and in all honesty I wouldn’t care less if he didn’t complete SX so as to be healthy and prepped for Outdoors, but that doesn’t seem to be the intention?

Looking forward to what he may bring to the Nationals.

I wonder how Tom is. And when they will start out door prep and forget about sx till next year.

He's fine. He'll line up next weekend.

Mosiman on the other hand is out until outdoors starts.

So having Ryder D racing the futures and having to still be practicing supercross has to be one of the worst decisions by whoever makes them  Kawasaki or Mitch when he should be full time training for outdoors right now..Supercross at this time is doing nothing for the kid .Maybe there holding him back because its his final year of his Team Green contract and should get alot of interest from other teams for next year..If kawasaki wants to keep him they will have to match the offer that he gets from another team ,,I would think he wouldnt come cheap Hes dominated the amatuer scene from day one and showed hes got the speed to run up front
