I read KTM sells more bikes in the USA than Yamaha now. This new facility and the committment to all forms of motorcycle racing makes me a customer.
I’d hate to live and work in Southern California, ktm guys are idiots obviously
CEO's, doctors, trainers, investment bankers, real estate moguls, the experts never disappoint on here.
My personal favorite are the guys who come out when some kid asks if he should finance a bike.
Cool, some of y'all pay $7 a gallon to tote around a bike you spend $12k+ on while most likely getting dirty looks for driving a truck. Flexing shitty dirt with mountains in background also isn't the flex you think it is.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Beg your pardon?
The dirt here is unreal when it rains. Which it has been all winter. Gas isn’t 7 dollars a gallon. A brand new dirt bike cost the same anywhere in this country.
You wrote as if you think we live in Austin
So I looked up a building in the old complex where they were located and property leases there for about $17 a square foot. They built 130,000 SF in the new complex. That's $2,210,000 a year in just leasing alone. On a triple net lease you also pay property tax and any building improvements. Most of that property was built in the late 90's and early 2000's so I can tell you there were upkeep costs going on. At that rate just on leasing alone you pay for the new building in under 30 years. Plus you now own the property. KTM occupied that I have been in at least 5 buildings there and I'm not sure if they leased or owned them. If they owned them then the leases will pay for the new building. If not I'm pretty sure the debt service on the new building is not costing them much more then what they were already paying. None of the costs I have seen are any more than other parts of the country in desirable areas. The average cost per square foot to lease industrial space in Austin is currently $20, Nashville is $22.
Where does all this stuff happen?
Alright I was a little off. $5+ gasoline but right on the money for a 450. And compared to every state not in the mountain or Pacific time zone the dirt sucks.
Only 40% off isn’t bad.
You don’t know shit
So 60% of the time, he was right every time.
Surely nobody will notice you cropped out the price of regular
It really only matters that $7 was in his heart.
Let him have it his way.
Could this place be anymore negative? What a bunch of fucking whiners
Only in a jealous person’s mind

California 💩. Just kidding😬 It would be awesome if Honda or the like built a facility similar here too.
It’s always amusing to see members here who reach out from mom’s basement to try and smack down or second-guess a very successful motorcycle manufacturer’s business decisions…
Just go make more money and stop your bitching, it’s sad…
Why does anyone care? Live where you want. Cali was good to me, and my favorite mtn destinations are in the Sierra. The management of the state may be in question, but no denying the geographical advantages. They do need more water storage, and the roadways need love for sure.
I'm an orange bleeder, but theirs no doubt KTM has forced the Japanese to up their game in bike development in the last 10+yrs. Now they have arguably the best complex for their race teams too. Regardless, we all benefit from it no matter what manufacture does it. Some may disagree but I don't think the big four would have the bikes they do now w/o KTM constantly raising the bar.
Probably still have kickstarts on everything.
Do you get your bike to the riding areas in a Sprinter or on the Raptor?

Big mistake. Ca is dying a slow death and austria is closer to the east coast.
Weege had an interesting interview with Mr Pierer here:

Quite a building. Could we have a moto journalist inquire about the location choice, bearing the pros and cons, straight from the horse's mouth? Seems pertinent enough, since it seems the choice of location is the biggest topic of our comments.
How do they view the current socio-economical-political environment? We would like to hear about it.
Thanks
Most people's hatred of California is politically based...not what's needed to be brought into a moto article. Everyone wants to beat politics to death these days (go check non-moto for examples).
When it comes to moto, california would.not be my first choice. Sure its been the HQ of moto forever. Sure the LA port is the landing spot for Japanese products. Sure the weather and terrain is the best rhe USA has to offer.
The problem is CA is way ahead of the rest of the country on getting rid of the ICE. Dirt bikes use ICE. Will they forever? Nothing is forever, and CA as moto HQ wont be forever either.
