Hunter did a great job taking over the press conference when this was asked about for the third or fourth time. He made a great point that everyone talks about how good the racing was 25 years ago or whenever because riders weren't afraid to run it in and block and ride aggressive....and then that happens and everyone loses their mind. It's true. Do want aggressive riding and seeing two guys that want to win or people tip toe around and play follow the leader?
Note: Haiden did a terrible job answering the questions and had this weird "who gives a shit" laugh that came out a few times. Not a good look from my side.

Deegan was riding like an overzealous 16 year old. Way too aggressive, making stupid moves, but he's 16 and he'll learn from this. Smith is way too old to be getting drawn into petty battles with a rookie. Smith should have backed off, followed Deegan, maybe offer some fake-out pass attempts to ruffle his feathers, and then make a move in the whoops. While Deegan was riding too aggressively, Smith's crashes were on himself.

Deegan was the definition of goon riding and Smith got mad and got sucked in to the “game” and lost. I hate that kind of riding and it’s pretty clear Deegan is part of the tic-toc generation where obnoxious and arrogant is cool. Lots of fans in that generation and they like him.
