Look.. I am all for our youth being more interested in health and fitness.

However, these damn broccoli heads coming into the gym in groups of 5 every day playing grab ass and making TikTok videos are really starting to get annoying. Sit at a machine for 45 minutes.. do 1 set every 10 min in between texting.. constantly video themselves in the mirror.. it's a joke. I can't be the only one experiencing this lol

I would build my own gym before ever going to that cesspool

I’d rather have a home gym, period.

Start saving for your own equipment. It’s expensive but, a worthwhile investment. I quit  going to the gym years ago because people fucking suck. The whole gym bro bs is annoying.  I dedicated 80% of my garage to my equipment. The other 20%, I squeeze two bikes into.

It works for a lot of people, but I actually prefer going to the gym over working out at home. I did the at home thing during all the covid shutdowns and I just personally find it easier to be productive when I have to get out and drive somewhere.

Although, I do see myself leaning more towards that alternative lately lol

I know what is worse. The muscle head grunting at the top of their lungs, dropping weights from shoulder height and chugging cans of pre pump juice. This is at the YMCA. I don’t mind the kids. We were young and dumb once too.

Not the ones I use. One is a private training facility, the other is a public gym. The kids doing that crap must have pissed off the public gym owner...back in Jan of 2022 they stopped selling and renewing memberships for persons under 18. Didn't hurt anyone's feelings (except the kids)

See I was always under the impression that gym memberships were only available to those over the age of 18, but a lot of these kids are high school aged. They come straight from school, with their backpacks on and a fresh perm Laughing

I actually really enjoy getting up before everyone. I’m up at 4am. Get a good hour and, a half in before heading out the door. I’m more awake and, ready for the day. Granted I’m ready for bed at 8:30 pm lol.

If you can swing it, working out first thing in the AM is a game changer. The people there are locked into their routines. Mostly adults with clear plans and schedules to adhere to. The don’t fuck around, and seeing a cellphone is rare. Then when you go to work after you’ll feel better knowing you’ve already accomplished more than most people will all day, and all before they even got out of bed.

I go to the local PF at lunch every day.  There are these 2 middle aged ladies there that drive me nuts.  They act like teenage girls, very loud, flirting with everyone, they even do there hair the same way when they go.

Now the big thing is girls setting up their phone to try and catch a guy looking at them. Then the go online and shame the guy.  Sorry girls, if you are prancing around in nothing more than your under wear people are going to look.  I think that is what they want anyhow.

Same at my gym. It's effing ridiculous. Now I wake up at 4am on my days off to go, because there is hardly anyone there. The ones that are present are there to workout and leave. I go after work during the week, about 430-500pm, and it's brutal. I've had to change up my routine during the week because the 'kids' are 'using' what I need. I live in the sticks away from any large cities, so I'm pretty limited on gym options.

Our gym was the local "premium member" place. Not 24/7, rates were twice as much as everywhere. The workout gear was nicer than everywhere. Tons of squat racks, tons of free-weights. Then they got bought out by the local franchise. The monthly fee went from $65 to $25 a month. Yup...it's the new high school kid hang-out. It was a drastic change in clientele and I don't see most of the regulars anymore. From what my nephew says, they don't really have anywhere else to hang out. The malls around here are closed, stores chase them out when they don't purchase things - so they hang out at the gym. I hates it lol.

Their parents sign them up...they have to, since the parents are paying for the memberships

I go to 3 diff ymca,s the adults r very boring.most don’t even talk. The hs kids r the only normal people.  They work out in groups & horse around. There’s a few things for them to do. After they get there workout in they might hit the racket ball court. A few of them trying to bean each other off the wall with the ball. It’s pretty funny.

When I was going to the Y the basketball courts were always packed with kids, it was great to see. Cardio room full of milfs, weight room full of meat head 20 somethings. I do HIIT and ride my road bike on a trainer now in my basement as I don't have time to go somewhere to workout anymore.

Generally working out in groups is not a good idea for working out, solo or with a partner is ideal.

i had a little "incident" with some of these types a while back and things have been pretty smooth since then. I hate public gyms. i think the only thing worse than the total braindead guys are the girls that dress like pornstars, which is most of them. Really no need for all that and it's distracting and inappropriate. Also, i'm not much older than all these types and i work with youth anyways, so before you go sending me AARP memes, i assure you that this IS a new phenomenon. I've been in the gym for over 10 years consistently and we did not behave this way.
