Everyone saying he turned down early acting like it was a nicely prepped dirt bowl turn
Clearly a takeout.
Hunter played that perfectly. Well executed.
I have no issues with any or all of the aggressive racing incidents between Thrasher and Hunter. These guys are racing for the championship and its been skillfully aggressive. I have yet to see the contact be dangerous. Its just been aggressive contact. Anderson and Barcia have not been racing for the championship in their contact. I can see a clear difference between the two. I would expect to see more contact between Thrasher and Hunter in nearly every race going forward where those two are racing close. I'm good with it as long as its clear they aren't trying to hurt the other rider. Thus far, its been just really aggressive racing. All good by me.

He didn't have a choice IMHO... He was in the groove and he rode it.
100% agree . Thrasher didn't turn down . It's deep sand too . cutting down is slow as feck in sand . He was railing a berm . It a take out . Not a bad one . But if anyone thinks Hunter pulls that move on anyone bar Thrasher, your crazy .
That and the fact , who the hell turns down in that deep of sand .
Watching live, it looked ok, warching replays today, I dont see the early turn down by Thrasher that people are stating, Hunter rode him. Dirty no, aggreasive yep, and ruined the 250 main. Heats in both classes were better than the main. Bracia and Sexton at least were entertai ing. Coop and tomac awesome speed, but only one pass.
Mreh. Hit side to side. Sucks to go down but I don't think you can be too upset about it. That's a supercross pass.
So you would have him procrastinate?
Why do something now when you can wait and do it later.
Look at Thrashers left foot, it's already off the peg there.
Bullshit, he'd punt Antsie if he had to and he may have to.
Yes, its called racing....... and Thrasher is my guy. He left the door open and Lawrence took it. Good move, Nate will learn.
Fairly sure Hunter owned it in the post race interview.
I came across this image.
Looks to me that nate is turning out of the top rut and hunter is going just below.
I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect nate to stay in that top rut. But looks like hunter would have still hit him.
I think hunter 100% wanted to make a big block pass. I don’t think he intended on taking him out (but how do I know)
what I DO know is, you don’t wanna be playing dumb games like this with a title on the line.
Yeah that was my thoughts.. I don't think the line out at the tough blocks was used late in the night as it was so deep.. So Nate wasn't 'turning down' so much as in the actual line.. That said I don't really have a problem with the move! As Hunter said he saw the opportunity and took it
Looks moody to me. Nate definitely left the door open, but Hunter knew that would only end one way and he was willing to do it.
it was t possible for Nate to continue around the wide line because the sand is so deep he would have ground to a halt if he’d buried himself in that.

"So are we cool with Hunter Lawrence putting Thrasher on the ground on lap 1"
Yes
He really choked at Tampa
These kind of passes, (take-outs), always leave me reminded of Roczen's arm going into CW's back wheel. That last photo has Thrasher completely at the mercy of gravity and when this happens, you naturally stick your hand out to stop yourself from falling.
Thrasher left way too much room for Hunter to dive in there . He gave Hunter an opening and Hunter jumped on it . That’s racing .
If you can't make that pass, how the hell do you even race? Nothing wrong with it.
Not a Hunter fan at all but I had no real problem with the move. Was there intent to be aggressive? I would say yes. I think he knew he was going to take him high. I don't think Nate "turned down early" as much as he just followed the line he thought was the best for that turn, and didn't anticipate HL to run him deep. So he probably didn't help himself with that choice. I can only assume that he thought he had enough space that Hunter couldn't angle him off like that and he guessed wrong. The real bummer was the 2nd crash though. Because he was making ground to at least make it not too bad of a night (all things considered.) That 2nd crash might come back to haunt him.
