On the last pulp show a caller called in and brought this up. Saying if WSX caught on could this event be a possibility. I’d be in favor of losing a round to have an event like this. Steve and the panel said they didn’t think it was logistically possible but you never know.

If they did it, would it look much different from a current SX/WSX race? Seems all of the good supercross racers from other countries are already in the states racing supercross.
It'll never happen and, truthfully, I don't think it'd be that fun. It'd be very predictable, which would kill interest...
Why would you want that? SX is a US sport, all other SX races are not real SX races.

Not sure it would be that predictable. Everyone would expect USA but then the Lawrence’s would probably sweep the event. There is a lot of different nationality’s taking over the supercross space ie roczen ferrandis shimoda the Lawrence’s. Not sure it would be a walk in the park for USA

Teams races are rarely predictable, but you’d expect the podium to be the US on top with France and Oz battling for 2nd and 3rd.
Then Germany, the UK, Canada? Who else?
I don’t think it will ever happen, but I do actually think it would be interesting.
Unfortunately the speed differential between the front and back would be that big they’d be lapping riders within a couple of laps.
There is no real need for it right now, America would win with France second. Certainly not enough interest to get SMX and WSX to work together right now.
If WSX keeps growing and gets some real european talent in the series this could be some spectacle in 10-15 years time..

We are currently in the early stages of the 17 round 2023 SXoN. Spain, France, Germany, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, US (sorry if I forgot any current racers) were all represented last weekend.

If it did happen it would have to be at a speedway track with at least 1:30 lap times . But I really don't see the need
SXON just wouldn’t have the levels of prestige as a typical MXON event.
MX is a epic sport on so many levels, SX is all hype over substance.
I mean is anyone actually managing to watch a full 250 main at the moment ?? 😴
Sure there are a couple countries that could compete, but not many. What makes MXDN so special is there is way more teams that could compete for the win on an outdoor track vs a supercross track.
They have 17 rounds of it every year. AMA Supercross is an open invitation to the worlds best Dirtbike Racers.
FYI: Supercross is really difficult, Manufacturers might not want their [Potential] Generational talents to spend 2 seasons getting 8-10th in SX when they can be battling for Championships.
Also, I dont think guys like Reed, Musquin or others that have moved here, get enough praise for how gnarly it must be to completely move to a New Country! Y'all ever seen the look on a very proper English woman's face after hearing an East Texas, Georgia or Alabama accent?!?!

Serious question: how many nations have enough talent to send a team? My first impression is that so many unqualified riders would attempt that they would need 4-5 ambulances on site to handle the carnage.

The competition level would drop off huge from podium to back marker countries . Wouldn’t be all that interesting at this point in history inmo . Ten years from now … maybe

I think you’d find it to be similar to having a Baseball Des Nations or Nascar Des Nations. Most other countries would not care.
Closest thing we’ve had I’d say was Paris Bercy, which was unreal in the 90’s
SX is a sport with little interest outside the US bar maybe France. It’s like comparing AFL to soccer. It will probably never get a worldwide audience like the outdoor discipline. Still as a European I like watching SX at this time of year to the MXGP kicks off and why would anyone deprive themselves of watching Tomac in current form, the only thing I don’t understand is why it’s not reciprocated when Herlings and co are doing the same in MX.
Mx in the most part is set in beautiful landscapes, man, machine & nature all coming together.
SX is 100% man made track in a stadium. Sx just lacks in so many areas when you start to compare with MXON.
