Fill it with sand and put some orange cones out there and let them ride

Seriously, this is what they should do. Rubber band start, sand rollers is most sections, maybe one or two has a table top like for the finish line, and go racing.

Here's a live cam from Treasure Island which is a few miles from the Oakland Coliseum.  Check the weather conditions live:

It’s been done before and there are SO MANY Sand Quarries on the bay. Hell, one of the most popular Bay Area Motocross Tracks was a sand quarry: Sand Hill!

And do not use any chemical drying agents.

That’s what I’m saying as well. I live up here and it’s been raining for the last month! You can’t find dry dirt anywhere. It’s supposed to rain nonstop all week and weekend! There is flooding everywhere up here now! It’s only gonna get worse throughout the week. If they can build a track it’s gonna be a complete mess. There will be one short practice. The heat races will be cut short as well the mains. I’ve sat thru my fair share of mudders, Anaheim, Oakland, even back when they had em in San Francisco. Not very fun. Spend $80 for a ticket to watch shortened practice, heat races, and mains just doesn’t suit me anymore. If there is a race, I’ll watch it on tv from my dry couch! If I wanna watch it in the rain I’ll stand outside and watch it thru the window!  If they aren’t racing jetskiis, the riders better have a mask and snorkel.

I'll stand outside and watch it thru the window.  fucking gold! HaHaHa

We've had enough injuries as it is.

That track has zero sand and is one of the most hardback tracks in norcal 😂😂😂

They don't have any sand left at that track now. Shame really,  since it has a decent layout.

It's a silty lake bed... not sure those tracks gonna be open right now, I suspect it would be hard to shift that dirt.  Plus, california probably has some rules LOL.

As someone that commuted using BART a lot, when the weather is bad like this,  a lot of belligerent homeless people use BART trains as a home, so per the other thread,  be careful people. Maybe get an Uber.

If that's the forecast then move it somewhere else.  I'm all for watching a mudder in outdoors but a mudder supercross is pretty boring to watch.

I generally agree with that statement. However, the 2006 San Francisco mudder was epic.

It rained so much here last night. It just finally stopped, but they say it’s starting again tonight. There hasn’t been a 2 day stretch without rain in weeks. No dirt is dry, unless stored indoors.

Pulp indicated they will build a tame track and race in Oakland.

It will interesting to see them build it in the rain.

I thought you all were belly aching about nothing in this thread but it looks like it will actually be very very wet. Some would say “Soupy”? Lollllllll

We have been getting the same consistent rain all the way up here in Redding. Our local track and down to Marysville are all swamped. Will the teams be training in Arizona or Nevada like last week? I have been to mudders myself and it is a mixed bag entertainment wise.  2017 Seattle race was wet but not a complete mud bog and it was rut-cross. (Plessinger won in 250's)

Only takes 1 bad race for an Upset in Jett championship race.  Be interesting to see how this plays out in the 250 class.

I was only 11 years old watching that race but I still remember it clear as day.  We parked in the giant warehouses near the pier and tailgated all day with ramps, skateboards, scooters, and a bunch of guy riding pitbikes haha.  Then the race was one of the most exciting things I'd ever seen, Ricky and James had a battle for the ages while dog paddling their way around.  Definitely one of my favorite memories as a kid, those races at SF really were a lot of fun regardless of the weather.

Seattle 2017 was strangely awesome. They had a totally different dirt that year, it was kind of gravelly and loose and it survived the rain pretty well. I've wondered why they had that dirt that year, all I can think is that with no 2015/16 race maybe they found out late they could not get the old dirt from 2014 and had to scramble? The 2017 night show was awesome, quite possibly the best Seattle I have attended. The track was sketchy, but made for great racing.

One more awesome and I'm Barcia.

As much as I would love that, you couldn’t fit a fraction of the team rigs at E street.

but sand is the answer to the mud in Oakland

Agreed and you can count on low attendance. I rarely ever miss the races close to me, but it's been pissing rain in Oakland and all of Norcal for that matter. Not to mention it takes a few days to build a track and the dirt has been sitting in an open air stadium since late last week. A tamed down track that will turn into a slopfest and heavy rain from Thursday to Sunday? That stadium will be over half empty if not more. Just run another round at Anaheim. Oakland is a wash. I don't understand why MxAddict14 is getting downvoted? Unless you live in the Bay I could see why you don't understand. The whole area is a shitshow. Freeways and roads under water, people without power for multiple days etc. I drive by the Oakland Stadium quite a bit. The 880 has standing puddled up water in multiple lanes. Having a race is stupid.

Corey posted a video to his Insta and the stadium is a mess already. That race will be a disaster.

How do you haul 100% saturated mud?

It's been in the stadium since last week for Monster Jam. It has been sitting in an open air stadium since. If they decide to race it's gonna be a shit show with no fans because it's supposed to rain from Thursday to Sunday.

Sucks for those that already bought tickets. Which I assume is the majority of those attending.

Alright race trivia, it was like 2006-2008 or something. Mudfest supercross and RC and JS7 were the only 2 guys racing the track in the mud. Everyone else was fallen over or stuck. Was that a San Diego race?

This is Seville all over again.

Bay Area resident all my life,  I witnessed the 2006 RC V BUBBA showdown in San Francisco and we embraced the rain as a part of the experience that day, will do the same this weekend. Luckily I’ve got my rain suit I bought at cyclegear for adventure riding and that should keep me relatively dry for the day but in the end we only get one race a year, rain or shine me and my family will show up ! Don’t let a little rain keep you from missing the action.

Sandhill (Diablo Mx) is now mainly clay with very little sand.

We haven't had a true mudder in a stadium in a really long time. Dirt Wurx does such an incredible job that we rarely get a true swamp fest. Daytona 08 was probably the last one? Please remind me if I'm missing an obvious one.

Crap deal but we have to go racing. They cant cancel a round. Lay a track out with the bales, throw in sand rollers and let em race.
