Please someone who was there post pictures/videos of the XC1 Pro class start..
Everyone needs to see the kid who pulled the holeshot!! Over the all the riders who lined up for the class, with the likes of Kurt Caselli, Nate Kanney and all the big named factory off-road riders, a local expert rider named Ben Bouwens signed up and road the class and pulled the holeshot! Now here's the great thing about it, he shows up on his own bone stock YZ250 that wasn't even cleaned up, with a big red bat sticker on the front number plate instead of actual numbers, wearing full cold weather gear that he rides with in everyday so its all ratted out, and best of all, A HALF HELMET! Thats right, a half helmet. He didn't even wear goggles with the mask like the old days, just regular old goggles with the open faced Arai. For anyone who knows him, love him or hate him, he's a great kid and a naturaly talented rider that does it all on his own. Its just an awesome deal that he was even able to do that. He ended up finishing 8th in class and 13th o/a. Congrats Ben!
Like I said, someone please post pics/vids, I didn't get any and I think you guys would really enjoy it!

Is it the dead start...?
I was talking to Ben after the race and he was wondering how he was going to cash the huge sized check they gave.for the holeshot. Great race Ben.
There's no question about his ability to ride, he flat out rips.
P
No pics or vids of the start though anybody!?
This guy sounds like a badass woods rider though, kind of looks like me in the photo with the beard and tongue sticking out its awesome, pretty embarrising him getting the holeshot on that thing, and doing that well against everyone there.
Pit Row
would seem weird to go back to an open faced lid after waring full-face helmets for so long.
But Ben actually purchased 2 pictures from the Racedaypix guy after the race, and it clearly shows the holeshot. Its an awesome picture so I'm waiting on the website to see what he puts up.
But I'm dissapointed with the GNCC website, they show a picture from the holeshot from the write up on the race with Paul Whibley looking like the leader after the first turn because Ben was just a hair outside of the pic, its such a bummer to see they didnt show him actually getting the holeshot. I know the kid didnt win the race, but its impressive and he did finsih quite well for doing it completly on his own with the equipment he has.
Where's the holeshot pic--guess the GNCC boys don't want that on there! lol
Post a reply to: Unadilla GNCC, have to see this!
