How much attention does the rest of the world pay to SX

Of course we in the states are all giddy about A1 and the SX series, but I'm curious about how much the rest of the MX planet cares?  Those of you on here from far-flung places care to comment?

Traffic goes through the roof for moto-media sites in the month of January and I can tell you it grows near equally from a US and rest of world-basis, in terms of site visitors.

before I did watch the whole SX seasons but the last 5years I only watch the first 3 or something then I get bored with SX but I do keep up with the results of every race. But I follow the outdoors AMA and MXGP like religion.

I havent missed a race in as long as i can remember, and will watch them all live , even though the night show for West Coast doesnt start till 3am.

Everyone cares.

Whether they care enough to pay, maybe not, but i will get at least half a dozen people pinging me for a 'link' to watch live.

That said, when MXGP season starts, i am as keen for that .

Fairly sure mowtoe fans across the globe are all tuning in. Was never televised where I’m from so it would be a case of doing a torrent download(thank you whoever that was), later VPN + peacock and now the very convenient intl packages available.

The time difference for live viewing is a problem

usually have a look at YouTube next morning for highlights or full races

Just my take.  It’s as popular as availability to watch on TV, without a lot of effort or paid programming.

The residents of Anaheim probably think there is just another Monster Truck fight at the stadium during an SX weekend.

In the UK right now it’s raining most days, tracks in general aren’t open much, sport in general is less available. So A1 is something to look forward to for sure.

As our weather improves & things start to happen again Sx does loose a bit of its appeal, and usually by half way through the season sx is down to a small handful Of contenders. Still cool to have it thou.

Well we just flew across the world to watch A1 and Oakland in person Smile

Due to the time it's on in Australia we rarely watch it live as we are generally riding/racing on a Sunday but most of our moto friends all watch it online at some point.

I think it gets a lot of attention across other motorsport disciplines, especially among the athletes, but not much with the general public.  It definitely benefits from being the first championship series to start the year.

Other than the US, where do you see the most traffic coming from country wise?

It all depends on if they like to watch the best dirt bike racers in the world or if they like a regional series where guys can't ride whoops, like MXGP for example.

*** Obviously said in fun, just poking the bear, you guys have a cute little series. hahahaha ***

Sad but even in America most of them can roam around freely without getting hassled.

As opposed to Martin Truex Jr. or Kyle Busch?

You really have the worst takes, dude.

Which is probably a good thing for the top riders. I can't imagine being a football player not being able to go out even just for a coffee just for hundred of people to line up for a selfie. Being able to make this amount of money and still living a kind of normal life outside of the sport gotta be a blessing.

Totally agree, I would assume a guy like Tom Brady is a prisoner to his house.

Go to youtube and search for "Christiano Ronaldo going out for a tea". This looks like a horrible experience lol.

Canada here, all In since the 80s. I even pay to watch both series live online every year.

In Aragon, Spain, there are a few motobros that follow religiously AMA SX and MX, in my case even more than MXGP. On Sunday mornings the first thing I do is watch the race

UK, and I’m mad for it.
it’s the time of year that makes it! What the hell else is happening in January.

I’ll watch practice & RDL if I can find it online, then early to bed, get up at 6am, watch the two mains whilst having breakfast and then go meet the cycling club at 8.
50-60 miles on the road, then home for a roast, and put my feet up to watch the entire programme start to finish.
that’s my perfect winter sunday!

come May, I’m far too busy with business so probably won’t watch the outdoors or MXGP much. I’ll grab highlights where I can.

The west coast races are perfectly timed here in northern Australia, A1 is 1pm Sunday arvo, so SX on the big screen in our outdoor living area, amped up through the sound system, few mates around, cold beers flowing and bbq fired up. We make a day of it.
However the east coast swing sucks with early morning starts and brekky beers tend to get messy.

Bring it on!

For what it's worth. I am in Barbados  (Caribbean) and we (our moto community ) will all be tuning in to watch the races tomorrow night and all season for that matter!

I actually prefer it when they head east, so the races start at 9am Japan time. That way my entire Sunday isn't shot spending the entire afternoon in front of the TV. Then again, I'm the only one of my friends who watches moto, so I don't have people over to watch with me.

I wouldn’t be surprised, I’m from Australia and have been to two Vegas supercross finals. Both times the Americans I spoke to thought travelling that far for a supercross race was ridiculous…🤷‍♂️

On the other hand, they thought anyone who ever travelled further than an hour from where they were born, was as good as an alien. 😂😂😂

I visited the Vegas sx final in 2007, it capped of a great family holiday.
