Forum glitch

The site for me has been super slow and glitchy since the recent update..

Been horrible since the update, same with me it will be really slow then you will go to click on the topic and boom you're on FMF or whatever crap site..... Can't help but think it's intentional, same with signing everyone out then you can't remember your password so you have to sign up again makes it look like their are more members.

From GuyB's time I'd bet there are more blocker accounts then active accounts.

Everyone that has mentioned that thus far has said they're on an Apple device.

What about you guys?

Glitchy how? Without any explanation the Vital tech guys won't be able to look into it. 

Apple device here. The social scoops never loads the video/picture. Been like that the past couple of weeks

When going to the forum, or any of the sub forums,  you have to wait a second or two while it jumps a bit, usually twice, before hitting the section you want.

Very minor gripe IMO. 

Assumed this is a deliberate ploy for users to accidentally click on ad banners? Happens to me here and multiple other apps/websites

I’m still getting the issue on iPhone (Safari) when I zoom in, it jumps to further down the page, which is frustrating when trying to zoom in on a picture.

No issues here other than the site still being super slow. 

Same for me… about half of the time when I try to click on something, it jumps and my thumb hits an ad.

I'm on Android and I haven't experienced the ad problem, but it is slow for the page to settle and get to the last post. 

This started for me a couple weeks ago.

My problem is the site often doesn't keep me logged in.

I can't view this site on my iPad anymore.  In order to read the text I have to view/scroll with a slight zoom and the site just bounces all over the place and won't settle where I'm trying to scroll.  It never did this in the past.

It's most likely a layout shift issue. Usually caused by pics/adverts loading without a placeholder. When the ad loads, the rest of the page jumps to make room for it. See:

You just need to specify a width and height placeholder for the image/ad so it takes into account the size when loading and nothing will shift as the page loads. It's going to be more of an issue on mobile than desktop as the loading will be slower.

Apple. Any thread link on the first page sends me to an ad, although it didn't happen just now.

You're not alone, but it seems odd to me. 

Personally, I haven't experienced being signed out once since the switch to the new platform. I think it might have happened once on the old platform. 

You post enough, so I don't think it has anything to do with you being away for a set amount of days. 

A keep me signed in box should be added to the sign in screen.

I haven't noticed any problems.  The unintentional "ad click" comes from me touching something before the page has finished loading.  This isn't new...I just figured it was slow device or connection.

Please weigh any comment I make about tech stuff with this fact...I don't even know how to use the flashlight function on this phone.

Having to sit through an advert every time you play a video embed is getting old fast.

I get the video pre-roll ads, but I'm not sure they need to be on every video. 

I was not able to click a thread for 5 days just the ad would come up, it went back to normal yesterday and now today I can’t again. I don’t know but I can only click threads below the first ad banner. I’m also getting signed out everyday

The replies are slow sometimes

when I like or downvote a post some spinning wheel comes up and it takes a couple seconds (never used to happen)

uploading a pic is slow and sometimes I can’t see the pics embedded 

I have been logged out a couple times 

sometimes I can’t click any of the thread links without refreshing the page

I’m on an IPhone 13 with the latest iOS 

I am seeing the same issues as many other users and my question is when will we see some resolution to at least a few of these issues.  i understand that it takes time to fix bugs but it would be nice to have an update on timing. 

It’s been the slowest site I visit on my iphone by an absolute mile lately. Sometimes not even opening at all. I know people are on top of it but it’s been a bit frustrating.

A chunk of what was in the original comment thread has been fixed already. It's a continuing process as new things come up / are identified. The site has been going through a weekly update ever since the launch.

Pretty certain its more than a glitch....
