Got my new MXA yesterday in the mail and I had forgotten Suzuki was the first for EFI.  Time will tell if Roczen joining HEP Suzuki results in Suzuki being the first to introduce new technology like they did in 2008.   A1 can't get here quick enough!

Being serious it is tough to gauge isn't it.

I know the ROI isn't great updating and selling motocross bikes compared to wanky little commuter cars or mopeds or boat engines or whatever, but as far as keeping a presence in motorsport it has to be the cheapest route. And surely it would take very little work to address most people's gripes / talking points *relatively* compared to the complexities in other areas like road racing bikes or cars, so I could see it giving the factory a nudge, despite the 'winning MotoGP and then dropping straight out' argument.

Just from a nostalgia point of view it'll be cool to see Kenny hauling on a yellow one, regardless of how the rest pans out.

I‘d love to see them bust out a new bike every year, but it ain’t gonna happen. It’s sadly a fact that they stopped their development on high performance motorcycles.

The last nail in the coffin was the news that they didn’t even bother upgrading the GSX-R 1000 to the EURO5 emission standard. This means that their flagship bike is not sold anymore in the EU.

and for all intents and purpose it's still the same motorcycle...

First 2008 models had wrong tolerances on kick gear axle. If you stalled your bike the gear teeths was possible to get one upon the other during restart and that resulted a cracked engine case.

We had 4 bikes total with my buddies and we all got brand new complete engine assembly for warranty from Suzuki.

Suzuki also made a lot of those extra engines and I think it was around 09-10, when you could purchase those complete engine assys for around 500EUR each from Suzuki dealers and at the time I had 4 spare engines in my garage(I did not need them at the time though).

Good timesCool

Roczen could go just as fast on a factory 2008 CRF 450 as he could his Honda last year.

The only thing that will hold him back this year is Kenny himself.

You guys thinking Suzuki Japan is going to update the RMZ450 just bc some satellite US based team sign KR are smoking crack. Face it, they don't give two shits about racing or dirt bikes in general. They have moved on and so should you. No zuk hate either this was one of my favorite bikes. Bought it new the morning of my wedding!

Nope, not true.
There are two options: either he went for the money or he really likes the bike. Both are fine with me.

And to the Suzuki threads: all I ever said were two things. It’s the most outdated bike and that Suzuki stopped it’s performance bike development. I know most people just close their eyes and pretend that’s not true, but that’s just facts. It’s sad that it is that way, bc Suzuki is clearly capable of developing amazing machinery. However, they moved on and it’s f..king obvious.
I‘m sorry if that hurts somebody’s feelings.

Fun fact you can bolt a 08 motor in to a 23. Not hating but there’s been no major development in this motor since it became fuel injected. Kenny will do fine on it but Suzuki hasn’t changed much and I don’t think Kenny being on board is gonna light a fire under the Suzuki R and D department.

I had the 2009 and then had the 2015.  When I bought rhe 2015, the Mrs walked past it and said "I thought you were getting a new bike today"

Nearly all the parts swapped between those two bikes, it was so cool when Ken won on the same bike in 2016

I just can't get over the fact that you're a stark guy and Roostbuckets kick starts his bike.

I would give you some facts on the stark, but the bike only exists on Instagram and Chad took your deposit money and used it on a media embargo.

You mad?

Serious question: what incentive does Suzuki have to further invest in the development of an internal combustion engine powered dirt bike?

p.s. Your nostalgic admiration for the brand does not count as a reasonable answer.
