I understand he ok'd it being brought up and a lot of the ball busting is a schtick, but it was still cringeworthy and uncomfortable to hear, especially when Steve mentioned throwing out his Venmo. Joking or not, that's a low blow.

I agree it was a little cringe but that also made it entertaining. If Steve put him on blast like that out of the blue it would be extremely uncalled for but he asked Darkside himself if they could talk it out and Darkside said yes. He was a good sport about it which gave us some entertainment.
It’s just that it’s awkward to joke about someone’s financial situation even within a group of friends, let alone airing it out on a radio show.

I mean, if Darkside is alright with Steve doing that, then that’s cool, but it still makes for an uncomfortable listen, and it’s not a great look for Steve.

Dick move by Matthes. Everyone else in the studio thought it was a dick move too judging by their reactions. But, going on an international trip with less than $1k in credit is dumb. Brokeside and quitside are funny names though.

My first credit card when I was 17 had a $1500 limit. I understand some people just don't do credit cards but imo Mr. Side should have been prepared a little better.

IMO the show lost it's edge when it went on MAVTV earlier this year. I noticed this to a lesser extent when they started streaming on Facebook and had to filter the show.

There is no doubt Matthes has meaningfully helped Darksides life. But Mr Side has been grinding it out also. The dude was handing out cards for his pod years ago and working for little to no money putting out his podcast
People have helped Matthes along the way too.
So Darkside, tell Matthes to climb off his ivory tower under those high ceilings next time. He also wouldn’t be where he is without guys like Shane Drew getting him down from Canada, Kenny helping save his ass with sponsor $$$ etc

Again, I am big pulp fan, but be classy Steve.

I have to wonder if Steve and Darkside are reading this laughing because it’s just two friends messing around and like most of us do with our own friends, but they just happen to be in the MX public eye.

The whole hotel and 800$ rubbed me the wrong way.

Id say alot, and i mean alot of people cannot cover 800$ on a credit card. (The people who were on that poll on twitter, while the show was going on, were probably lying out of their ass, or they have massive credit limit amounts)

Again, we don’t know what his financial situation may or may not be and it’s in very poor taste to talk about it the way he did. If one of my friends did that to me I’d be very pissed off.

so.... Matthes.. a morbidly obese person, who basically works for Satan, is giving Darkside sht about money??? Matthes... who still works, which means, he does not have enough money to retire, or to hire a personal trainer to lose all the extra weight he packs around, is giving sht to a normal person who doesn't have an extra 8 hundy on his CC??? I think ole' fatty McFatstein should give us a screen shot of that mountain of cash he must have sitting around a bank account somewhere.... otherwise.. i'm betting Matthes has less than 800 left on his own card....
