I’ve done my research on the kits and I want one. Seems to be very well built kit.

Simple, for transparency. They like to be able to see how much fuel is left, at a glance.

BRC has been doing the 500 conversation kits for several years. Didnt seam like they advertised much for the dirt market, primarily I have seen marketing for snowbike applications. They work "okay" for snowbikes, there are two of them in my extended snowbike group. One is an older carb model and the other is a 2019 TPI. Overall they are a novelty item IMO.

Same opinion here. Rode with a guy last year that had a BRC 500 and a yeti kit. Couldn’t keep up with the 450’s.

I don't think anyone buys them to be faster, but just for the fun and passion

there's a guy who shows up at Croom occasionally on one of these. I forget the amount he mentioned but it was crazy expensive. my CR500 AF in an 03 CR125 chassis works fine.

Curious: which bikes are best for snowbike applications?

Stock engines: YZs and KTMs are pretty popular and both work great. The 2019/20 CRF is my personal preference for a stock engine.

Mild mod engine: Full GYTR YZ or ported KTM + ECU. Both are great bikes

Serious snowbike engine: KTM 450/500 platform. DCR cam, porting, ECU, and oversize throttle body. 75 HP is achievable on both 450 & 500 engine displacements. The latest generation KTM 450 engine can be potent and has proven to be very reliable.

You tend to see groups of guys on similar bikes. My regular group has 1 CRF, 1 KTM, and 8 YZs. We regularly see groups of all KTM/Husky bikes.

Maybe not as a dirtbike, I own a kx500 for fun, but in the snowbike world nobody buys anything that doesn’t make their bike go faster or climb higher, and the BRC kits don’t accomplish that.

Would that work in a dirt sidecar if the ECU is done well?
