Vince is a black eye to the MCR team. They run a great team but why they keep that clown on the roster baffles me.

Yep, and Brayton talks like Genova is his bestest buddy ever.

Just here to say F U to MCR, WSX and the Motocross Media for brushing this under the rug. What a shit show. This kook should have been burned at the stake for this. Instead, everyone has just zipped their lips as they wait for it to disappear from the headlines. Shit like how this was handled by all parties shows the true colors of this industry, and it aint pretty.

Meh, Joe Gibbs did the opposite and commented on the Ty/ Brandon incident and people just piled on more. It doesn't really concern me. What does concern me is the sanctioning bodies looking the other way. This needs to stop before someone gets seriously injured. Mookie already missed the outdoors because of a cheap shot by Barcia.

Not sure what you expect from the media. They all covered Brayton's side of the story, nobody on the other side of the story is talking. You can't force someone to take your calls or grant you an interview. At some point you have to move on to Paris until Friese or MCR agree to go on the record.

disagree. If this was the NBA, they'd be asking constant questions of the coach, the agent, the promoter (league), and the authorities. All on camera. They would PUSH the issue and apply pressure until someone talked.

They could be sending emails to VF, MCR, WSX, etc and force them to say "No Comment" which would at least be a comment. Instead we get "VF is on vacation" as if that ceases their ability to investigate the issue and report on it for the consumers of the moto media for what could be a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge scandal for our small sport.

You're not wrong from the media stand point, I guess I just feel like the media could have pressed the issue a little harder. They could have reported on the total lack of response from the other side and the lack of response from the governing body over the race series. Request interviews and make it public who is flat out denying an interview. Put more attention on those parties and forced a response from them.. Any other sport this would have happened, no doubt.

The real issue here is the governing body turning their head on it. Imagine if Checo tried to pay Russell to take out Max in the first corner of the Mexican GP, so he could go on and win his home race, let alone a "championship". The world would have lost their minds!!! And a full scale investigation would have been launched by the FIA with serious ramifications. I get F1 is held to a higher standard of scrutiny, but this type of blatantly aggressive behavior deserves some sort of investigation at the very least. It's baffling to me that the media and the powers that be are just accepting it as non-issue.

The NBA has mandatory media availability for coaches and players through the CBA, and local beat reporters covering every team. Not really comparable to a sport like moto.

You realize that "no comment" and "I'm on vacation" are the same response? Translation: Piss off, I'm not talking. Sounds like ML512 and others did just as your asking/expecting?

I agree it should be investigated and address by the sanctioning body and/or promoter. Maybe if WSX was a more established and secure property things would be handled differently. But FIM desperately wants this thing to work, and obviously the promoter does as well, so I doubt they are going to spend much time publicly highlighting the warts of the series. They'll just ride out the storm and hope something happens in Paris that diverts the attention of the industry.

Yep, it's actually pretty laughable when folks try to compare our media to the NBA, NFL etc. etc. It's not even the same planet.

That's not meant to be a slam on moto media, their hands are tied somewhat or they risk being blackballed by the homeschoolers that run this sport. Just look at the flack ML has received over the years about some of the Pit Bits photos of shit that is out in plain sight for everyone to see.

Sometimes we gotta just love it for what it is.....a podunk, redneck sport that is barely one step above Monster Trucks and Mud Bogs to the average person. Laughing

I would argue Monster Trucks are more popular than Supercross. Monster Trucks do a way better job marketing; look at the number of Official Monster Truck Toys in Wal Mart/Target, check out all the youtube videos on Monster Trucks, and Look at all of the Kids Channels that incorporate monster trucks. Vince and Tony weren't available and the team owner, Mike Genova, is recovering from a major accident where he was life-flighted from a track.

Will try to get an interview. Doesn't mean we aren't trying.

Did everyone miss you interviewed Adam from WSX management and he stated they were doing nothing about the Frieze situation.

Look just because we haven’t heard if MCR or the FIM are doing anything, does that mean they’re not?
No it just means we don’t know.
But we do know by their track record, that the wheels at the FIM turn excruciatingly slow.

The AMA can do what they want to protect riders. They aren’t forced to be unable to take any action simply because it happened somewhere else. It should be the team though. It DID happen on their team and to their other team rider. Vince is a negative impact as a sponsored rider now. No team should want him riding for them, he isn’t going to win anything. No loss there. Hire someone who isn’t hated by 90% of moto fans and makes your team look like garbage by having him under your awning.
Jurisdiction is a pretty important thing when it comes to sanctioning bodies, and sanctioning actions.

I’m hearing there are changes happening at MCR: someone is leaving…

Because, he’s had enough of this insanity.

I just watched ML’s great interview with Adam Bailey and what he said was that they gave all the footage they had of the incident to the FIM and that as the governing body, it’s the FIM’s role to take it from there.

Well, Braylon’s rep vs Alessi/ Friese’s… hmmm. I can’t imagine which one has more credibility?…
