Sidi Crossfire SRS 2’s for me. But only if you’ve got skinny/narrow feet (and they run small).

I love how slim the toe box is…the sole replacement is awesome…I’m on my 4th replacement soles, on the same page of boots…probably 300/400 hours of ride time on the boots now…I’d have gone through 2 or 3 other boots by now because the soles would be trashed…makes the $600 worth it.

I did break my ankle in them…but that was a compression thing and no boots can’t protect against that…

I was gonna say Fox Instincts, but after reading this thread, I'm gonna buy SG12s next time these shitty soles wear out.

Sidi SRS.

Whatever the current / next generation as I need them.

I'm not riding much ( well, not at all due to illness) at the moment, but I was given a couple of pairs of Tech 7s - correction : the pair I haven't used are 8s - when I killed my SRS 2s ( it's a bit of a story......). After using hinged boots for so long, I really hate boots without them, and if I were riding multiple times a week as I did for years prior to this one, I'd stump up for SRS 3s. I just Kill normal, lasted ( stitched and glued ) And, Molded sole boots . Buggered if I know why. I've Never had to replace an SRS sole.

I have to say, if I weren't such an SRS devotee, I'd be tempted to try Gaerne SG (?)12s, with the huge amount of 'wraps' they seem to get.

Maybe when I'm back to ( please Hughie, I'm bloody well climbing the walls at the moment ) a Lot of riding, I'll give them a try. If Gaerne had an SRS type sole, I'd get them in an instant. As, I do find the Sidis, initially, a bit 'bitty' with all the adjustable panels - though, that does make them so good for getting a perfect setup and fit. I've found Locite 222 a great thing to have, to keep all the little screws in place, once I've got the 'fit', just so.

Sidi for me, but no real complaints with Gaerne’s.

Had a few sets of tech 8’s and 10’s, junk.

I’ve had Sg12s, instincts, tech tens and sidi atojos. The SGs were the most protective and comfortable, but in size 12 they were pretty cumbersome. I’ve been happy with the atojos because the exterior of the boot is about an inch shorter than the tech tens or SGs

If you’re size 10 or under, SG.

11+: Sidi atojo

My first pair of Tech 8’s were easily the benchmark for me. I’ve since owned 10’s and SG12’s and the OG 8’s were the best of both those boots.

I wore SG12s for years and SG10s before that. For some reason my last pair of SG12s started bothering my feet so I thought I’d try a pair of tech 10s. I’ve been very happy with comfort and suprised by the sole holding up way better than previously thought. Helmets and boots are the most important thing you’ll wear but both are subjective to body shape and size. May take you a bit to find what’s best.

Garnae is overrated as shit, They wear out by seasons end there’s no replacing the parts that wear like Sidi. Atojo blows SG12 out of the water more comfortable, longer lasting, everything can be rebuilt.

SG-12 and 10s

Never tried Sidi. May give them a go next time I need boots. It’ll be a while tho haha. Have a brand new pair of SG-12 and I don’t ride enough to wear them out anymore.

For wear and durability Sidi Crossfire 3’s, for comfort and performance Fox Instinct. Currently running the instincts because I’ll happily trade wear for comfort!

Im probably on my own here… but fox f3’s. Had about 5 pairs of those. I had 4 pairs of instincts after they stopped making the f3’s. But i didn't care for them - too big and clunky when you're up around a size 12.

I found my home at tech 7s. To me, once they built enough support into the tech 8s and f3’s, they shoulda stopped there. 2 rides and those boots were broken in nicely.

Side note. Worse boots were gearne sg1’s. Zero ankle support and stability.

Hard to beat the old Hi Point boots with the metal shin. They were light, comfortable, and lasted forever. I think Alpinestars makes a version now. Other than that, the AXO RC2 boots were excellent.

Lots of opinions on here, all depends what your priorities are when ranking the boots: comfort, durability, style, cost. Lots of good choices between Sidi, Gaerne, Astar, Leatt, Fox at the high end of the market.

Always wear comfortable and safe boots, they are a difference maker.

I just picked up a pair of the Leatt 5.5 boots and I'm pretty happy with them so far. I've only been in them a few hours, so I can't speak on longevity, but they are very supportive and comfortable.
One more vote for these. I was surprised how comfortable they are and almost zero break in time. I've got about 7-8hrs ride time on them, happy so far. I was in your preverbial "boots" about a month ago and didnt want to break the bank. $300 was my budget and I was coming up short on premium options.

Having Alpinestar Tech 8/10's exclusively in the past, my wallet made me try the Leatt's. I grabbed a pair on clearance at Rocky Mountain for $280. Did the enduro sole, Walker 22 versions. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/riding-gear/leatt-boots
Still some styles still available at that price.

Pros: Very comfy, good support, break-in time
Con: After I rode a little on them, they squeak, like a lot. I spray silicone in the joints and buckles, seems to help. And I saw a few reviews of water intrusion on wet days but I havent been in the woods wiith them yet to test that potential issue.

Overall: At $280, I might just order another pair on clearance and leave them on my shelf for when these wear out! Thumbs up from me.

Sidi crossfires are amazing with no break in time required I love them... however these new robot boots don't work for my vintage bikes so I just bought another pair of alpine star victory boots (old High Points) that feel like I'm hugging my high school sweetheart again when I were them...just saying

I'm wearing my 12 year old Sidi Crossfires that I had from highschool and they have been as amazing as I remember them being. All the parts are replaceable, the buckles are smooth but strong, and they are fairly compact when compared to Astars with the bootie. Never once had an ankle injury and had some pretty bad cases in my day. Will be upgrading to the Atojo's this winter.

Alpinestars for sure. Either Tech-10 for best comfort and safety or grab a pair of Tech-7 if you wanna save some money.

The most comfortable was JETT boots, like wearing slippers. Longest lasting and pair I'll buy from here on out, Sidi.

Sidi Crossfire SRS for me. They fit my feet well and I like that you can change parts by yourself if something breaks or wears over the years.

Tech 8's are my favorite still wearing them.
Tried the gaerne s12 out and after 6 rides went back to my 8's. The s12s did not have the type of ankle support I get from the 8's. Stuff I didn't feel with the 8's I suddenly felt with the gaerne.
Tweaked my ankle off a landing in the s12 the 8's would have absorbed easily is why I stopped.

I'm sure the gaerne fan boys will be along to down vote soon.
