Be interesting to see how Evans does. Second year for the team , you could argue he has had a season like Watson had on Yamaha , this year, on the Honda, so will he be better or worse.

Watson hasnt forgotten how to ride, he would be a good fit at Gebben, they get what is needed.
I would have liked to see Watson at Gebben too, but the last that I heard was that they want their second guy to pay.
Someone will find the money.

Yeah for sure you can pay your way into a team. But just look at his GP's this year ...:

Sweden: did ride in warm up, not in races
Belgium: did ride in warm up, not in races
Czech: did ride in warm up, did 0 laps in moto 1, nothing in moto 2
Germany: Finished a lap down in moto 1, 13 laps down in moto2
France: did ride in warm up, not in races
Great Britain: did ride in warm up, not in races

I have no idea what the reason is for this, and i also understand why some teams need to take a paying rider due to budget issues, but why would it help a team (and Pootjes) to spend money and simply not ride the motos...?
They are some crazy stats :D
Cant understand why to come races and not ride motos.
JWR did run Öhlins and heard their riders not really happy about it. Öhlins works great for hobby riders and they are highest level in MotoGP so they should know how to deal with MX also.

Good interviews from the GP of Turkey. Bens was really interesting and really gave us an insight into how tough his year was mentally. Also interesting to hear about the state of MXGP and the overall feeling within the paddock. Think Ben would do well under some one like Marc dereuver who has a laugh but could also help him mentally. Really hope it improves next year as for me was just a season to forget.
I'll be doing a bigger interview with Ben later this month, where we'll do a deep dive into everything. I was glad that he opened up...

I was glad that he opened up and explained how tough this year has been on him. Thanks for listening!

I’m sure Ben will bounce back especially on an Lewis Phillips racing bike may have to offer him more than half a mil tho 😂

When they don't openly mock lesser known riders, that is.

Joel Rizzi will be in MX2 again, but that's all that's confirmed at the moment. Watson is still out there.

Hey Lewis, have to agree, can’t see Conrad doing any MXGP. Same with Tommy he always said he wanted to do some MXGP rides but it never happened. Is this why Tommy signed for REVO? Could we see Tommy doing some MXGP or AMA stuff next season I commented on his YouTube video from MXON asking about doing some big races for his last year and he said it’s on the cards. That would be some great content

If Tommy feels like he is riding well then, yeah, I think he will do a round of MXGP or Pro Motocross. That wasn't why he moved though. Everything lined up so that the Revo deal was better than anything else by quite a way.
Would that be more money on the table from monster? Or Kawasaki U.K.? Smart move by those people, regardless of results Tommy has a lot of eyes on him now with all the content and is a good place to spend budget imo.

In an interview with the team boss he said that Davy was never happy with his suspension, but he was also around 7 seconds off the second to last guy and that he never put and effort in and that suspension doesnt work very well when just riding around. 😄

The 7 seconds off to the second to last guy was not at all the case in the timed practices. He never qualified last and had GP's where he put 5+ riders behind him.

it was more like he was on and off during the weekend. I watched him at Lommel this year, and it was like night and day between different sessions. He looked pretty fast in first practice & timed practiced and then just mailed it in the other sessions and didnt even line up for the races.
So he was fast when the track was at its smoothest then...

Lewis and James Burfield haven't always been so respectful when the riders they're talking about ain't factory or regular GP riders. Meaning EMX-guys.

They’re journalists, and state things as they see them, rightly or wrongly. I don’t always agree with them, but do feel they’ve the rest MXGP insight, at the moment.

Sure, they're doing a great job 99% of the time. But mocking with and talking down on 15/16 year olds who get a great opportunity to race overseas for the first (and maybe last) time in their career... Frankly said, that just disgusts me.

I know it was all said in a "playfull' way or meant to be a "comical" remark, but very disrespectful and distasteful, nonetheless.

I’ve also heard the name off Polak there..

Fredriksen could be a dark horse in GP 250s when he has a good team and good 250 under him. But those 2 together are hard to get when you’re not on a factory level team.

The 7 seconds comment was not mine, as it was the bosses. Needless to say he sounded pretty pissed lol

Oh, he wasn't paying for his ride this year either. The team paid him a salary.
That’s crazy that he was getting a salary considering he pretty much didn’t complete a race in years…
Then you see a guy like Boisramé (and others) podium MX2 and top10 MX1 not getting a ride and just end up racing a 125 for fun.

Nothing for Beaton or Guillod at the moment. Not many options now, as a lot of guys are scared of JWR.

Scared was the wrong word... Some guys are hesitant about whether the package is going to be good enough.
I have seen enough first hand to know that most riders would never like to end up there and rather go for British/ADAC/French Championship teams instead. The fact that a team owner publicly states about his rider being 7 seconds of the last guy already shows a slight bit of the immaturity around there. Meanwhile it looks like they signed him for ‘23 per Pootjes his last instagram post.

Pootjes had a injury streak since his 125 dominance in 2014 and it hasn’t stopped since. He wasn’t known for being the hardest working guy in the paddock, but turned some of that around when he started working with de Reuver while riding for Diga. Had his first podium and signed with F&H (his GF at the time is the owner of that team). Then he had that nasty arm injury and now he had to come from the lowest point of his career. If you consider that + the step-up to MXGP, then you know that there won’t be much success. Especially with less equipment. I obviously wish him all the best but I think the ship has sailed. Hope he proves me wrong

So how many PAID MX2 riders do we have for next year for a full season? No sponsorship money with them? 12?

- Adamo
- Everts
- Laengefelder
- V.d Moosdijk
- De Wolf
- Haarup
- Horgmo
- Braceras
- Geerts
- Benistant
- Elzinga
- Gifting

Unknown
- Pancar (private team)
- Guyon?

Add these guys to the mix for a full season
- Rizzi
- Karssemakers
- Brumann

Will JM go MX2 full time?

I would expect the Coenen bros have a pretty good deal making some money.

I don't think Toendel (not on the list) will have to bring money to SM Action, but not sure.

Oh and Brumann will go to MXGP (or at least he was in MXGP the last few races).

Yeah a guy like Pootjes would be better of building a year doing just national races and some Dutch/Adac masters. Build up confidence etc. And he is the prime example of a guy who due to his situation is hurt by the 23 year old rule. He shouldnt be trying to race mxgp, he should be in mx2 (at best).

I believe they also have picked up the support from KTM that Diga Procross had before the team finished!

They have signed Meico Vettik for EMX250 and some wildcards. He was 11th overall this season after missing i think 3 rounds. He should get them some top 5s as a minimum.

Oh my. Reality is we’re looking at 20 riders max in MXGP. Once we have injuries and fly away races will be the same as last year 16 riders lining up. I for one will not be paying for MXGP tv next year. Would love to see the numbers on how many pay the subscription I could image it’s dying down every year.
