I know his 97,98 and 99 sounded better. Ricky on a KX125 was way over due. I saw RIcky win his 1st national at Gaterback . It was a shock pretty much everyone said home track advantage. Then he wins 3 125 titles in a row. 97 Millville RIcky was a lot faster than the 1st race. This bike sounds great probably missing the works ignition tho. It just doesn’t hv the same racy sound. They chose the 04 cylinder because of the development of the 04 double boost port cr125 is still going on. Much better sounding and quicker. The kx125 is kinda neat tho.

This bike would’ve looked even better with that flo green frame though!
Agreed. They have a 99 RC outdoor bike and a 99 Ramsey SX bike in the PC showroom and they're for looking at only. Also, RC's bike has factory 48mm forks with magnesium lugs and not sure you would be comfortable using those 20+ year old mag parts.

This bike is one that's done the rounds a few times. I think it's an old Matt Walker 04 bike, that has since been ridden/raced by Weimer, Cianciarulo and Tedesco under various guises.

Looks to be mostly as-was in 04, except for a few newer team parts like the Braking discs, ARC levers, Lightspeed parts etc. Either way, seriously cool project - props to PC/Mitch, RC and Ash Hodges.

IT9 for Washougal 125 Dream Race:

...and now RC4 in 99 throwback guise:

How can anyone watch this and NOT think it's a good idea to bring back a 125 class at the pro level??

I was a little confused with the cylinder banter. How does "the old B6" from 99 mount on those 04 cases, for you KX experts?

I would imagine an engine builder like Mitch has some sort of internal naming system to keep his different engine characteristics organized, and B6 was a cylinder that Ricky enjoyed racing on. And maybe Tedesco rode a B5 and Brownie preferred a C3. The letters could be notations about where the power is; more bottom end, more top end, or a middle ground. And then the numbers could be fine tuning the power within that range. B6 is best at 10-000-11,000rpm, B5 is 9,000-10,000. I have no clue just throwing out ideas lol. Was really cool to see Ricky and Mitch talk about it though, Ricky seemed like he would be really good at communicating what the bike is doing and what needed to be changed.

I have an old works C-1 cylinder. I have an old 02 practice bike of theirs that I restored a little bit and sent that cylinder in with the motor to Pro Circuit asking if they’d rebuild the motor with that cylinder. They called me after sending it in and said no, they won’t and that Mitch wants to know where I got that cylinder from. 😆

Needless to say they built the motor with a stock cylinder but they did send the C-1 back to me.

I thought the same thing when I watched this. That seems like a whole lot of work for such a short video. I wanted more for sure.

So how does this work, if RC is a "brand ambassador" for Triumph... ???

Some of you guys could find something to bitch about if you won the lottery. It's the GOAT on a KX125 for Christ's sake. Sit back, turn off the negativity, turn up the volume and enjoy the best to ever do it rip a badass bike.

No... I think there should be a warning at the start along the lines of "this video may cause tenting (and the lady parts equivalent), watch repetitively at own risk"

It's a 5 minutes long video with less than 2 minutes worth of riding, it seems like a waste of time to me standing around chatting shit. Get on the bike and make it sing. Show me any other 2 stroke promo video that has this much talking in it

I think the point of the video is these 3 winners (RC, Mitch, and Bones) getting back together around this bike. It's not just about the bike.

I would have enjoyed more riding action, but I really enjoyed the banter. A longer video would have been fine.

RC didn't want the AXO gear that Bones brought for him since they aren't paying his bills.

Nothing like a 125
