Sexton just needs to score 2 more points than Tomac. That’s the bottom line.

I’m a Tomac fan, but I’m pretty freaking impressed with Sexton also. Whoever wins, it will be one of the greatest finishes of all time.

Tomac will push Sexton the limit and Sexton will end up in the dirt. Tomac will win one Moto and mail it in for a 2nd in the 2nd Moto. It will be fun to watch. So cool to see these guys race with respect and not play heads games like we all have seen in Supercross.

It would require someone else to take a moto win. For example if Sexton went 1-3 (45pts) and Tomac 2-2 (44pts).

It’s coming down to fitness and toughness in the heat. Hopefully the weather breaks and it’s a little cooler for the race, but the forecast is plain ugly right now.

Do these guys use cooling vests or other cooling gear? I’ve never seen it before but there’s stuff that helps.

Yeah, they do. Just about everyone had them on the line at a race a few years ago. They take them off right before the start. I think Metty raced with his once on accident and it got hot af.

If I'm Tomac I would be giving a bounty of 30k cash to whatever hard up privateer cleans out Ponyboy Curtis in the first moto. In all seriousness I think Chase gets this title and he earned it. And if Eli gets it, he earned it too. They were both on another level than anyone else. Kind of a shame that one will have to take second. I'm pulling for Eli though.

I'm hoping both riders have the chance to lay it all out on the track and battle each other for the championship without "outside" drama, much like we saw at Ironman.

Also hoping riders stay safe in the 105+ degree temps.

So 1-1 in 2019, winning a moto in 2020 and winning a moto by 45+ seconds (and the overall) last year equates to Eli hating Pala? I must be missing something because that doesn't add up to me. A poor performance in his first race on the YZ doesn't mean he "hates" the track. His track record is actually quite good and a title in his last outdoor season is up for grabs. I'm guessing we see a pretty good version of him.
