He has an Instagram post up where he says it was a rookie mistake. Bike did not lock up. Says he’ll be back for Moto 2

He was just coming off of supermini's this time last year, he's not ready for prime time. All of the Deegan homers think he's this unbelievable superstar and he's not...yet. He's IG awesome (to some) but that doesn't equate to getting it done on the track. He needs more time to develop before we crown him.
He's still got a ways to go.
But he should progress at a decent pace and just get better and better.
He's got some knowledgeable people supporting him.
I'd predict by the 2023 outdoor season if he stays healthy he will be up there.

Impressed with deegan , he gutted out a moto for no points when it would have been easier just to go back to the trailer , tough intro to the pros but showed some speed and guts

He had a bad day, not a rough start. A rough start would be floundering all day in the 20-somethings. He ran P16 then P12 in qualifying and just outside of the top10 for just shy of 30 min of the first moto before the crash. That was a good showing...

He was doing ok . Lap time s where way off compared to the top 3 . I expected anywhere from 5 -12 . Did not expect him to be so far off speed wise tho

Gnarly crash and props to him coming back second moto! Give him time to adjust.

Its honestly a great learning experience for him getting his dick blown off for his pro debut. Hes won everything his whole life, been famous most his life, dad is rich n famous..etc. The sooner he can go through some adversity and learn how to come out better on the other side the better for his long term career. The pros are full of ups n downs n theres always someone newer n faster coming up, so the more you learn how to handle adversity the better. Hes got the talent, the speed, the resources.. he now just needs the experience to make the total package.

I bet he’ll do much better at pala (if he races it) it’s a track he’s rode a ton probably. He prob hasn’t rode iron man much, and they don’t get long to learn the tracks.

It's not that simple.
Running 11th without a back brake for all but 2 laps is a good start.
Crashing on the start, getting up limping in 40th place, then climbing to 24th is respectable.
He's not able to run the same pace as the front runners yet, but today was far from a failure.
I'd say he's ready.
Looking forward to 2023 Nationals.

Been a big fan for years, after watching for about 4 years theres something that I noticed was that Haiden hates losing more than anything and his biggest challenge is how he's going to handle not winning, hopefully he turns it around next week.

Not only to chase faster guys everyday but also to see how they prepare themselves and carry themselves daily. That shit rubs off on you and can do nothing but help.

I already said I expect a top 10 out of him but if he holeshot at least one moto and got top 5 overall I would not be shocked in the slightest. Being that this will be the most anticipated debut I also wouldn't be shocked if he folded like a deck of cards and crashed his brains out. I doubt I could ride with that pressure.

The kid showed me something that impressed me. After both crashes, he hopped back on the bike, albeit slow to get back on the bike and I don’t blame him, but he hopped back on and finished.

Showed some real grit here. Good on him. Keep getting after it!

Better to have a tough start at the end of 2022 instead of at the beginning of 2023.

Hopefully yesterday’s smack in the face just motivates him to be even more ready next year. He’s young and the class is fast, I was impressed he got back up and finished after the crashes instead of giving up.

Not claiming he’s going to be the next big thing or not, nobody has a crystal ball, but he really just has a target on his back because he’s popular on the internet. If he does great, his fans will pop off and if he does bad, the people that dislike him will pop off even louder. At the end of the day, he is still drawing a large amount of eyeballs to the races which is a net positive regardless of his results. This sport is very much put up or shut up in the results category so only time will tell whether or not he has any staying power. Hoping he lines up at Pala next weekend just for some extra gate drops before 2023.

I don't take anything said in the comments section on YouTube serious and I rarely ever read the comments to begin with. I've honestly never watched a Deegan video in its entirety and I've probably clicked on 3 of them.
