Steve Matthes posted that he will be #438. I think that Eric Grondahl has been running 338 this year.

I'm not a huge fan of the kid but I would love to see him go 1-1. Well, either 1-1 or like 12-19, either will result in the same level of meltdown on here over one race.

I'm rooting for the kid and hope he does well. I think top 10 is achievable and would be pretty bad ass.

Well, lots of people are pissed that his family was able to find a way to get him there and make money while doing it.

It seems most here are a bigger fan of doing it the "old fashioned way" by taking out 3 mortgages, maxing out 10 credit cards and financially ruining your family to chase the dream.

I think Haiden is better than a lot of you guys give him credit. He probably has one average moto where he gets a bad start and/or goes down early and has a quiet ride, another moto where he gets a top 5 start and probably hangs up there for a while and finishes like 7th or 8th.

I personally am not pissed at him ( he is a kid and an extremely talented one on a bike) I (like many) do not care for the hype videos and the constant 24/7 look at me. That is not hating on the kid, that is the supporting cast. Haiden is a great talent who I am sure will do well. Seems like from those that are not in his "circle or clique" he comes off very rude and all about the cameras. Again, he is a kid whom all he knows is this lifestyle and fame. Not rooting for or against him, good for the sport IMO

Here's a whole bunch of footage from the amateur day Pro-Am at Budds with Deegan Bennick and myself, you guys can be the judge. After racing him all day Sunday I really think the kid will be just fine, I think people need to remember he was a supermini rider a year ago and a B rider a few weeks ago. I think some of the predictions I have seen are a bit unrealistic (I'll be super happy for him if I'm wrong, just my opinion) I could see him being between 12-15 for his first race. It's a totally different world at the national but his progression has been insanely quick and I think he'll adapt just fine. Even though I was able to hang with him for a few laps at a time on amateur day I wouldn't use that as much of a reference because of how much different of a track we were racing than the national. I know I really struggle when the tracks get national rough and Deegan has the skill (and equipment) to excel big time when the track gets like that. Even in this video if you pay close attention you can tell Deegan has a lot more finesse and creativity (jumping bumps, standing through turns, etc) while I was just sending it pounding through everything trying to keep up. The Deegan's were also super cool and down to earth with me, thanked me for staying to race with Haiden and told me good riding so I thought that was nice of them. I know it's easy to hate on the kid on top in the spotlight but there's a reason he's gotten to where he is and it isn't from fame or luck! Can't cheat hard work, best of luck to the kid

Matty B is the man! Best Vlogs and Instagram of any of the pros, keep it up! Super cool of you to provide your perspective since you actually just raced him!

Alessi was mostly unbeatable from 50s on up. Deegan has been since what, 85s? He's certainly fast but the hype is unwarranted. Without pulling up the results I think Marchbanks was more dominant as an amateur and nobody cared when he went pro. Followers don't equals wins.
I researched this awhile back and compiled a list from all the big amateur races from 2008 up to this year and included all the big name riders during this time and Jett Reynolds won close to 100 times and Ryder D was 2nd on the list with 88 wins Deegan had something like 68 wins .I cant find the list but im looking for it ..What was kinda weird is alot of the big name riders won alot of races but not that many of the bigger races until the last couple years before turning pro. The list included Daytona --Spring a Ding --Freestone --Mammath--Ponca--Lorettas --Cal classic -Mini Os--Kawasaki race of champions and a couple more that are no longer around like Oakhill --Lake Whitney etc Gage Linville had like 54 and Marchbanks had something like 53 They were the top 5

This should be good because he won't have to worry about having an illegal bike

15th moto 1. 17th moto 2. Deegan is probably around Derek Drake's speed for now.

Deegan is the real deal, but imagine what Burkeen could do in that race with Deegan with a Star Racing 250F? He is riding a YZ 250 2 stroke which is not on the same level as Deegans bike.

He’s on the PulpMX list for Fantasy and he’s definitely racing…

well he is not on the list that MX sports just published and the class is full but I am sure they will use their clout to get in.

He’s not on the entry list, yet, because his pro license is still being processed by AMA Pro Racing. Once that’s done, he’ll be added to the provisional list.

I'm stoked that Haiden is where he's at. From watching their channel the last couple of years, I get the impression that Haiden knows what his parents have done for him, and that he doesn't take it for granted.
He's put in the work, listens to guidance, and overall is a good kid.
As far as claimgate goes, do you really expect OEM amateur bikes to not be the best bikes out there?
Star has 2 bikes, a pro bike, and a kick ass amateur bike. They share some parts. The amateur riders are going to ride what they're given.
Ryder D's bike was for sale for $38k. I would guess Haiden's bike is worth about the same.
So, let's stop crapping on the kid, and recognize that he's earned where he's at.
I have no idea where he'll place. I hope he does well!

Austin Stroupe did pretty good at his first National. Finished 4th overall.
And took out half the top ten in the 1st corner. 🤷
