Interesting that the engine builder dude early in the video (12:50) said that he was in a heated argument with Tim Cotter and then said that this "if he doesn't get that exact motorcycle, we're going to have to get litigious with this.". Who is THIS guy to make THAT statement like he is representing Brennan? He went from wing man to lawyer/guardian? This guy seems to be in a LOT of the conflicts.

Totally unacceptable behavior from Cotter and Walker. What a shit show on the part of those trying to intimidate this kid. He had every right to claim that bike and they coerced him into dropping the claim.

I know lots of people hate on Cooksey. But it’s nice to hear another interview from someone involved.

The man’s a nut job, but he’s been pretty on point lately.

The exception that the truth ends up being more batshit than the rumors.

The cynic that I am, really does wonder why they were so insistent on not letting that engine go given that it contained nothing special

Obviously he is biased, but his story backs Brennan's... Still looks really bad for Star, Yamaha, Cotter, Walker and Brian Deegan.

Yeah, same name calling and ridicule the mainstream media make about people reporting against the narrative pushed by corporate backers.

Looks really bad on Matt walker and Yamaha and his dealer yelling at him also . I don’t think Deegan threaten the kid like walker Yamaha and now sounds like his dealer sponsor did also if you go by what the engine builder is saying

Not a good look for Yamaha....not at all...the question is was this Yamaha rep Donnie doing what he thought was best for his employer or was he following orders...

Both this guy and the kid sound pretty credible to me. They're speaking freely and it doesn't look like they are rehearsed or trying to memorize their answers. The only time this guy even paused was when he was deciding whether or not to name names, and he kind of admitted that he shouldn't have bluffed about getting litigious or made that snarking remark to Walker.

Cotter, Walker, Luce, and now even the dealer all need to answer these allegations publicly because they all look like assholes right now.

Cotter and Luce come off as The Industry Establishment trying to squash a kid's dreams and protect the Golden Child.

Walker and the Dealer simply threw this kid under the bus - they cut ties as soon as the big boys brought heat.

It sounds like his dealer sponsor was at the race and really came down hard on the kid and was the one that made him back out of the claim

Probably because of the pressure from Yamaha...the fingers are starting to point in that direction

And the "why" is what makes this whole situation a huge issue.

IMO, Donnie took the reigns and did what he thought was best for Yamaha.

So you can now add to the list bribery, when Brennan wouldnt drop the claim he was bribed with flying him out to Florida to ride the bike and maybe a couple of engines? What all did they promise him in order to get around the claiming rule?

Will they actually follow through with what they promised Brennan? Is this how we enforce the rules now MXsports and AMA? Will we just ignore the bribing, coercion and down right intimidating of a minor?

Ya Cooksey has hit on a couple stories now. Starting a change my opinion on him a little and wondering what else was he right about?

Leopards don't change their spots. I'm firmly of the Belief, after hearing it twice Star Yamaha Cheats. Yamaha Motor Co. Cheats. Very, very disappointing.

There's too much going against them at this point. The AMA, has actually been good. Will they address this? I think they should. Did the Star team win by a huge gap? If I came in behind them , I'd be questioning it.

Reality is, all of them could wax me on an 85.

Corroborates Brennan Schofield's story for the most part. Cotter and Brian Deegan in a room for 20-25 minutes alone with the kid. For what it is worth, also no mention of AMA guy, which may be an oversight, but either way, it doesn't seem like he was central to the interaction.

I Doubt Donnie was calling his boss and was told to extort the kid. If so it gets even better!

Bobby Regan at Star told Weege they were protecting sources of parts who were outside vendors. That is ambiguous to me: maybe it means Star has tested extensively to determine who makes the best bearings, surface treatments, generic stuff, I mean, which provides incremental improvements that add up to an edge over people who use other suppliers for the same things. Or maybe it means suppliers of things like custom-ratio works Yamaha transmissions and other unobtanium pieces that would be rather unsporting to use in amateur racing. So I think Regan said something innocuous-sounding whose innocence could not be confirmed without scrutiny of the parts in question.

I was already inclined to believe that Harris was unlikely to have $17K sitting around to claim with. I didn't like him when he introduced himself at the start, but he struck me as pretty credible when he told the story. Of course, he could promise not to tear down that motor--the Schofields could do it for him and measure/film everything per his instructions, so he could have been saying something innocuous-sounding himself there.

Yeah, "Didn't you read the rulebook?" was hilarious and went to the heart of the matter.

I did some reading myself, and it turned out that Mickey Boone was not blackballed entirely for trying to claim Hannah's 125 in 1976--Kawasaki hired him on 500s a couple years later.

Edit: Make that "credible," not "creditable."

I like to think the bike is not a cheater, I just think it has parts or process not covered, or interpreted in the rule book.
The AMA should have torn the bike down after the event for a look see, just to stop or confirm the rumours.
