Star the Douchgans and Yamaha all deserve to lose that bike they know damn well what the rule book states and if you want to take a full factory bike knowing what could happen you 100% deserve it

1. Good on DonM for owning it, but it does suck that you were basically calling all of us that said this didn’t pass the smell test a bunch of idiots
2. DC really needs to make a public statement in this as it’s his event and Cotter is his employee
3. Slow old guy, do you want to say this kid is full of shit?
4. Wish this kid would’ve had his phone on during this
5. They better change the rule for next year or they are going to have a line of people claiming bikes

This is the same guy that completely shuts down a professional sporting series for 20+ days so he can hold an amateur event for an entire week that costs families $8,000 to $10,000 a piece. It might be too late but AMA/Feld/Nationals need to move on from DC. And quickly.

Seems rather simple, if you don’t want people to know what you got, don’t put yourself in a position where it can be easily obtained. They ran the gauntlet on the assumption that no one uses that rule, turns out they do.

There’s always at least two sides to every story, but Brennan Schofield seems like a straight up dude and is a well spoken young man in this interview. Not a good look for those involved in pressuring him to reverse the claim.

Good or bad, the rule exists. The kid followed the rules, and then everyone started in with their mob tactics. I get it, they got caught with their pants down, and didn't want to give up the bike. Overbuilding it was their mistake, but rules are rules. Pretty shitty of Yamaha to threaten a dealership, when again the kid was just following the rules on the books. In my opinion, unless there was a rule stating otherwise, I wouldn't even have let them have the bike for the race the next day. I doubt there is a rule saying the rider can use the bike the rest of the week and demanded that I wheel it to my pits that very night. This could have been handled so much better, maybe invite him out to the compound to ride a true Star Factory bike, along with offering him like one of Deegans practice bikes or something. A bad look overall for everyone involved. MX Sports, Yamaha, the Deegans,, even the AMA, all acted horribly.

To be clear I never called anyone an idiot, I just thought people were taking speculation and rumor too far…but as it turns out the only thing I was right about was about the cheating accusations….I still wonder why his dad wasn’t in the room now that we know he was there…how did that even happen?
And it’s a shame that Sloan is missing out on this!
