3/27/2020 6:27am Ok, I got some time. It was the end of 2000. Like I said, I had lost my KTM ride. I was like any other dumb kid. Worked my ass off to get on a good team (Motoworld of El Cajon 97-99) then had flashes of good speed in ‘99 and got the KTM ride. Then, had a couple crashes testing to get ready for 2000. Had to have two shoulder surgeries and honestly, just didn’t work hard enough training wise. So at the end of 2000 I was a broke kid without a ride and needed some cash, desperately...

3/19/2020 8:07am I got the works Showa rear shock all apart.. the oil was perfectly clean and the seals and bumper were all new, so you could see it had just been serviced before it was put on the self for 20 years. I needed to take it apart to re-anodize a few parts anyway. Even for a works rear shock, the internals are not as eye-popping as the works fork was, but I will point out a few things we noticed...
One thing you will find in works suspension is very intricate valve shim stacks as you can see here...

3/13/2020 8:18am As I mentioned in the video, there’s troubles with doing it later as well (venues). The whole thing is just going to be a mess. Sounds like we’re going to try and race Vegas and Salt Lake with double headers (Denver, Detroit, Boston, and Seattle are off). But...it’s also over a month out. That could be a good thing or bad depending on how the next week or two goes. Things could calm down and we get the okay to run or things continue as trend and those states also can any event of over 250 people. Like most teams...

3/12/2020 8:22am Bruce, I own 2 Suzukis currently and recently sold my other one (RMZ450). Great bikes, all of them. I also have a couple of YZs. I've owned KXs, RMZs, YZs, and CRFs. I like all the brands (not a big KTM fan though), but tend to favor Yamaha and Suzuki. I was simply pointed out to the other poster that just because a manufacturer invests significantly in a bike, that doesn't mean it will produce on race days and hasn't in the US in 20 years (which doesn't mean they aren't good bikes because they are). And at the same...

3/10/2020 2:22pm rode one this weekend. its impressive. its not a true to the word turbo tho, it is an altitude compensatory turbo...meaning it only kicks in as altitude robs your power. meaning...if you ride it at 0 altitude the turbo is useless. as you climb in altitude, the turbo generates boost to compensate. its actually quite ingenious system. running 2 stroke turbos at sea level is the big hang up...need really high octane for them to run without detonation. this new skidoo functions at all elevations on pump gas.

3/2/2020 8:56am he had 2 builds I looked at.. a 1995 CR250 and a 2001 engine in a 2008 CRF250 frame. He listed the engine parts and all straight aftermarket, no HRC. The Cryo treated transmission was not an HRC transmission, it was oem gears cryo treated. You know, the very few people that do build complete HRC engines, never even start them and if you did, the probably wont run so well because you would have to have all the complete matched parts including the ignition that match the compression, porting, port timing, ignition timing, etc. so it runs well. It...

3/2/2020 8:40am caveat emptor. I sold a KX 125 to a 20 year old,he blew it up the first weekend he owned it,his dad come to my house demanding I give his son his money back,I asked what was wrong said the he seized it,I asked if he used premix,he looked at me like I was an alien,I then proceeded to ask if he asked his son about the two stroke oil, ratio right and gas can I included in the sale as well as the written instructions. So the kid didn't get his money back and learned a lesson. I ended up helping...

2/5/2020 6:10am I really fussed and sweated over these clamps for the last few weeks and although there were some challenges, they do look pretty good all back together. HRC used lots of titanium on these steering parts.. all the bolts and nuts, the steering stem and the bar mount studs are titanium. I think I mentioned before the steering bearings and seals are the same size used on a CRF150 so the longevity was very short on a full size factory race bike. The HRC clamps from this era had chamfered edges, but were later changed to rounded edges soon after...

1/27/2020 9:02am 100% true. Having built industrial CNC equipment, you always do a runoff to verify capability. Dry runs, capability studies, gauge studies, etc. It would be interesting to know the rest of the story for sure.

1/27/2020 8:59am It should be pretty straight forward if you know what you are buying with machining centers. 1) The buyer didn't know the machine capability/capacity 2) The machine is defective (not holding tolerance?) 3) The salesman said it can do everything you want and someone believed them. Should have done a machine buy off if they didn't. Put it in the contract that it needs to do what you want it to do.

1/16/2020 8:37am Thanks guys, I am happy to share what I learn along the way and pass it on. At least we have a record of it on Vital as I will probably forget the details myself. It is part of the adventure of the build. I never expected it to come this far with regard to the amount of parts, but I have passed the point where I have to go all the way now since I only are missing a few remaining parts for a complete RC build. As for that black stuff on the inside of the rim, I...
