Exactly. Everyone is so fast to blame DC, but the reality is NBC Sports is gone, so they did not renew their contract with either series. DC was left scrambling and Mav definitely dropped the ball.

Why do you keep bringing up NBC Sports every time you talk about this? It’s been directly on Peacock for 2-3 years now.

They folded NBC Sports under the Peacock brand.

Why did they do this? Mainly because of cord cutting. They saw their cable network tv numbers dropping. So they shifted the content to USA Network and also to Peacock streaming.

Streaming subscriptions is where companies like NBC are putting their future.

Because of that…..CONTENT IS KING!!!!!!

There is an entire SPORTS section under Peacock. You can go find MX National Highlights even.

My guess…. NBC/Peacock wanted the MX Nationals but only as a streaming option. Since they don’t have a cable TV option anymore, DC probably tried to say okay, NBC you handle the streaming service, MavTv, you handle the cable tv service. To which NBC said no.

So they decided they could have MAVTv provide both, the cable tv service, with MavTV and the subscription streaming service with MavTVPlus.

And we see what a total disaster it turned out to be.

Obviously a lot of speculation here. But I suspect that’s not too far off.

Streaming service companies like NBC, are bulking up their content offerings. Not trimming them down. But they also need exclusivity to content. This drives streaming subscriptions. They were not will to share streaming and cable tv.

Hmm, Ive only had problems with one race, the first one, so far.
MAVTV Plus worked for me
FLO works for me.
For FLO I signed up on my PC, down loaded the FLO app on both my phone and my Samsung TV then cast it to the TV with zero issues.
Not saying there haven't been issues, just that Ive been lucky on this one, so far.

I keep bringing it up because they (NBC Sports) did not renew the contract with SX or MX....or at least that is my understanding. They are transitioning all sports to USA Network, so maybe they pick it up? Peacock will still have sports such as Nascar through 2024, so what that means to me is NBC as a whole did not see the value in this sport to keep it on Peacock.

I am as surprised as everyone and not defending or blaming anyone, because we just don't have the full story.

I just watched my first race on Flo, not live. The re-watch was terrible. In the first moto's it's like they knew where the action was and put 10 little ceazars ad's in each moto during the highlights, including Jett's podium interview. Great missed out on the action. It would also cut back to like 3 seconds of previous race footage before the commercials. It was confusing as hell at first. Pretty disappointed to not see passes or key moments of the races because they subbed in commercials during those spots.

Yes. Everyone saying it should of just been on Peacock wasn’t an option. The big sponsors of the sport want it on live TV. Peacock didn’t offer that option so it was a non starter. Whether that is right, wrong or short sighted that’s the way it is.

Lets also remember, many parts of the world does not have access to Peacock. Geo blocked.

There was 3 scheduled. I know we’ve had at least two so far. Can’t remember if we had the 3rd yet.

No. All 3 NBC/Peacock motos have aired.

The rest are all on MAVTV/FloRacing.

Using the Flo app on my phone casting to TV. Watched all 4 motos yesterday. Picture quality is the best its ever been imo. Weird sync issue with the audio in both moto 2's tho. It was like the booth was 3sec behind what I was watching. Mildly annoying.

Strange because I didnt watch the moto 2's back to back so I think it was in the feed. I watched both 250 motos and then 450 1 & 2. The audio was only out of sync on the moto 2's (both of them about the same delay). Weird

Signed up for Flo on Thurs using a link on vital. got the 6.99 price.

Watched first motos live with Flo app on Roku ultra. Seemed like 720p. ff thru commercials.

Went to watch the 2nd motos on replay. Took awhile to find them. Had to use the search function.

Clicked on 250 moto two. screen went blank and never loaded. tried three times, gave up.

Downloaded the flo app on my ipad. Clicking replay worked and I cast it to my tv. Kind of clunky. didnt work the same as other casts I have made. Resolution seemed fine but seemed like iit wasnt playing every frame, a little jerky.

Plus it didnt have a fast forward button to skip commercials.

Any body get replay to work on Rokus?

This is the first year I haven't watched a majority of the motos live. I go back and watch whatever hooligan uploads it to YouTube after.

They need to just switch to YouTube entirely. YouTube Channel Memberships allow the channel owner to charge a subscription fee for different levels of membership. Skip the crappy apps that are exclusive to motorsports.

No one is going to stumble across the races on those apps, it's hard enough to find if you are looking for it.

Sort of funky the flo racing smart tv app just says "cast it from your smartphone", not a true embedded SmartTV app more like a post-it note on your TV screen. I have my SmartTV on ethernet so I get the fastest connection, I don't think casting in general is as reliable.

I watch MXGP through the browser and cast the same way with occasional issues on resolution/lag.
I was lucky yesterday casting Millville from iphone and had no issues.

I am able to cast to my tv from my iPad with the flo app now. Website still won’t play video in my tv browser or ps4 browser. I can’t believe these hoops we are having to jump through to watch motorcycle racing these days. And I’m relatively tech savvy. I can’t imagine what some of the old timers are going through. Probably just not watching the races because it’s a pain in the ass.
I'm an "old-timer" and have had zero issues watching on my iPad, AppleTV or on my MacBook except for early on for Pala when the MAVTV+ logged everybody out and you couldn't get back in and then I just went to YouTube. It has worked flawlessly for me ever since. also had no issues going from MAV to FLO just followed the link provided put in my info and paid the $6.99...

I’m having issues on the Roku as well. It crashes and goes to the Roku Home Screen and I have to launch Flo again. About every 7-10 minutes this happens.
It’s the only app on my Roku that does this. Amazing what a shit show this years MX has been.
Ya that is what it does on my Xbox stream too. I'd say not quite as frequent, maybe every 15-20mins but still. I'm not quite sure what to do. I could maybe watch it on my computer the next race and see if it does it there, but I'd rather watch it on my tv. I'm just surprised because it behaves very similar to when I watch on MAV. Picture is nice, no interruptions or anything. It just crashed. It does not do that when I watched on Youtube though, which is why I don't think it's my internet. Weird. Glad that it seems to be at least better for most other people though.

A few highlights from this weekends broadcast:

- Battlebox featuring commercials in both boxes
- The race jumped back 15 min while commercials aired in the box, then jumped back live when commercial was complete
- Shimoda and JT talking with a six second audio delay

Flosports app on Roku is what I was using. Still watching flawlessly on YouTube though since Flo was unsucessful.

That was an issue with the actual timing and scoring this week, that wasn't just people watching on Flo.
