New 2023 YZ450F

Update": New Bike info here: First Look - 2023 Yamaha YZ450F | All-New

Got word from my dealer that the 23 YZ450F is coming with a redesigned frame & engine. Drops in August.

I just hope that they didn't make changes for the sake of making changes and actually improve on an already great package

It works well as is, but I would really like for them to change their plastics/overall look. I just cannot get over how unattractive and wide it LOOKS

Looking new YZ65-125-250 2-strokes they are new generation so we might get something similar to next generation 4-strokes. They are slick and cool looking bikes. If you measure bike and compare to ktm its not really more wide just shoulder are different shape and that can be updated now.

2023 will be an interesting year for bikes.

The YZ450F should be new, the 250F could be new, KX450 should be new, Austrians are new, Austrian moto 2-strokes are maybe going to be fuel injected, the CRF450 could get some mid generation tweaks, Triumph and Beta are on their way.

I got chance to ride YZ 125 2022, this bike is amazing. Even im 47yo, it was first time in my life I ride 125Smile

You would think Suzuki would release a new platform also, to separate themselves from the new Triumph branding.

They update the bikes too much imo. Let the gen run for 4-5 years damn.

The last major update on the yz was 4 years ago. In fact almost all manufacturers are on a 4 year cycle. Except Suzuki.

You could argue that '20 was a major update for the 450 (and 21 for the 250F) even though they look similar. Big motor and chassis changes, in my opinion. Regardless, I'm sure something new is on the way. Shouldn't there be Japan Nationals spy photos showing up here soon? Might give us a look at what's to come.

Rumor back in December is they were testing there chassis with a Zuke motor in it.

Maybe triumph is kicking Suzuki some cash to develop a new 450 engine.

you are correct, the dislikers are clueless. they’re all about trick designs on their pickup or Yeti coolers, but somehow it’s not tough front’n enough to wax about the radical nature of motocross machine design - this means how it LOOKS. yamaha needs their 1990 KX moment, and desperately.

I’m not sure about the stabilizer. It just seems like added weight and another item that can break. The Yamaha doesn’t even need one. Like others have stated, slightly slimmer body, weight reduction and boom. Perfect bike

Really interesting timing on this thread! As I just decided I’ll be in the market for a new 250 or 450 at the end of this season. I’m putting my research hat on and trying to dig your what bike will be best. Been a few years since I’ve bought a new one, so I’m excited.

Yamaha tried the revolutionary thing with the backwards engine a while back, took a long time to make it better than the conventional bike that came before. I’d hate to see Yamaha stumble like that again..
