The man was having a fun dig at a fellow legend.
This is what you do with your mates. Do people really not get that humour?

Your wife is wearing something that doesn't flatter her and she asks you how she looks. Brutal honesty is telling her that what she's wearing doesn't look good on her. Ruthless is telling her she looks like shit. The difference is subtle but important.
Snowflake generation just doesn't understand someone pushing them to be better than they thought they could be. If you have never had someone in your life that you hated but also strove to get his approval I feel sorry for you. If you think that guy is douchey I feel worse for you and our future.
But surely he meant AP needs to do much better.
Long may you run.

IMO it’s the same as managers don’t bitch to employees about other managers. They do it behind closed doors. For my ex and current military. Ncos and senior ncos stick together even if they are wrong and never let a junior ranking know about any rift amongst you.
To put it simply. I think Roger should have kept that between him and his two legends.
The best boss I ever had was a gentleman the company I work for hired back out of retirement. He was 72 years old. A younger boss of mine who was leaving joked that he was forgetful, too old, etc.
He "trained" with my younger boss for about 2 weeks before taking over a shift of around 40 of us. Once he was in charge, he immediately talked with me about so many things outside of work. Got to know him personally on a deeper level very quickly. Despite how busy having 40 people to supervise, I later found out he would talk with me the same as he would do with everyone here. The guy knew us all personally, genuinely cared about us and his age and knowledge were his biggest benefactors. He went back into retirement when a new manager came on board and they butted heads apparently. However, I've worked a long time and the 2 1/2 years I worked with "Jack" were the best years of a "boss" I've ever had.
I've often talked with others about him and this is what he told me one day. "You guys don't work for me, I work for you" ......................miss you Jack!!
I feel DeCoster may have that same relationship with some under him, if we really knew him on the same level
Typical Vital Poster: These interviews are stupid and boring, they never give any information.
Also Typical Vital Poster: He should talk behind closed doors, the general public doesn't need that information.
Sorry. I refuse to bend the knee because the guy has a good resume. People can still be assholes and say things they shouldn’t. If you all want to gravel at his legacy that’s fine. I’m not expecting to change anyones mind just as I won’t change mine.
I don't think Roger has any expectations that the riders themselves don't have. They are winners and if they don't win..."we need to do better".
