He was incredible, what a ride. His fastest lap in moto 2 was over seven seconds faster than AP's. Over four seconds faster than JA's. The only one even close to his times was Roczen, who was .75 back. Tomac was 1.2 seconds slower. Cairoli 4.1 seconds. Dungey 2.9 seconds.

I really hope this guy stays rubber side down for the series.

He’s absolutely one of 3-4 riders that are prime championship material, 5 once DF14 is back in the mix.

I think as the series goes on, we’re going to see him, Tomac and Ando in the top spots. We definitely have some quality racing ahead if everyone stays healthy and consistent.

Great ride and hopefully he can build off it. Still not sure he can make it 22 more motos without throwing it away

He was sensational. Roczen was as well, he wasn't far off. They were both next level yesterday!

JA21 I gonna be on that podium next weekend. I think his riding was really over shadowed due to his tip overs unfortunately and yes it can't go unheard how well Sexton was ridding.

I think he’s ready to take the next step to be a big bike champ.. He’s been making strides the last 2 yrs. in the 450 class & has shown improvements. His speed is definitely there & now has to show the consistency. Great ride by him yesterday against the 94..

Best ride since Tomac on the Honda, that was something else.

He did look incredibly fast and smooth. Next champion level performance.

He looks like the guy right now. If he’s got the consistency dialed this could get ugly pretty quickly for everyone else.

His riding looked amazing, his sunglasses should be melted and barred from production.

I find it a little odd seeing home so good on the 450. Coz on the 250 in mx he wasn't that great.
Good on him tho. It will be interesting to see where chase, jett and Hunter end up in the next 2 years or so.

It was a cheesy sailing joke. I’m a big sexton fan, but even I’m not convinced he keeps it glued together over the next 22 motos.

He looks good on the Honda. I believe he ready to win 🥇. No major mistakes, and it will be his.

Sexton rides with impeccable form and style, head over bars, elbows up an out, seems to always be in correct body position. As others have said he doesn't look like he is going that fast but the stop watch says otherwise.

That second pic is a very rare shot of Chase with his heals on the pegs.

Definitely going to enjoy seeing him and Kenny push each other. Watching them dissect the track and their creative new lines was something else.

There was one sketch moment in the corner before the finish. Chase made contact with Kennys rear wheel. Kenny have him the stink eye over every jump through that finish line section. I agree...Sexton is feeling it.

It seems like Sexton was really hanging it out a couple times in the first moto. If he can stay on the safe side of the ragged edge it could be a long summer for the rest of the class.

Agree, keep wearing that gear or similar and keep the bikes the same layout also. Brings back memories for us old timers.

Ohhh yeah, I saw those and said to my chick "What the F is he wearing...???"

His riding was exemplary. If he can or has solved his crashing...it's going to be along summer for everyone else.

He has the form, the build, and the youth. You know who else has the same form? Jett Lawrence. Long, muscular but lean, they can create leverage on the bike. Guys like RC, Ward, Dowd, they are bulldogs, they just muscle the damn thing around if they want to.

While I agree sexton looked amazing, Pala is not an indicator of anything. He was great there last year as well. If he can maintain this for the next 4 rounds than I am a believer and that goes for Roczen as well. I just can't get on the bandwagon after one round and I am a huge sexton fan. One thing for sure, Anderson and Tomac will only get better as the season goes on. Tomac is always a slow starter and as long as the knee stays healthy you will see him up front soon competing for wins. Roczen is the biggest mystery of all. I hope he does great but history is not on his side as of late. Maybe he changes all that this year. As for Dungey he looked great for his first race back and will also only get better.

This is usually true for the first round of any series. Everyone is ready to crown the guy that goes out and wins. Has Sexton now got the chops to do this for 12 rounds? By that I don't mean win every round because that is unlikely but can he bring it for 12 rounds and win the thing? History says that he will get challenged at least a few times if not consistently by guys like Tomac and holy cow I can't believe I'm typing this Dungey! I'll believe that Ken can rock all summer when it happens at this point. I believe that Anderson and everybody's favorite Barcia will make some noise and even Tony if he races more rounds. Also Christian Craig might be a sleeper pick as well but again we'll see whats up after Redddddd Budddddd!
