I say the Donut Boy gets beat this summer

By Justin Cooper, the guy who had the title firmly in hand before wadding up and getting hurt chasing after J Mart in a moto where he was smoking Jett at Washougal. I’ve been listening to all the preview shows and it’s like these people watched different races than I did. I even think I head JT say that Jett won last year convincingly, which is totally not true even with Coopers injury it came down to the last moto. Yes he missed a lot of bike time but I don’t see that as an issue the guy has been a threat to win pretty much every moto he’s ever lined up for. Your 2022 outdoor 250 champ will be #32 STAMP IT!!!!

I’d agree with that statement.

But I can root for either of these guys. I like them equally and I really want to see Cooper get it done!

I hope J-COOP has improved his starts. Jett isn’t nearly the same rider last year to this year. As good as he was last year, he is that much better this year so if J-COOP still isn’t able to start well where Jett is a consistent good starter I think Cooper will struggle to keep up.

When was the last time Cooper raced ? Think it's going to take awhile for him to ramp up.

Agreed. Cooper was on his way last year until the thumb injury at Washougal. Don't get me wrong Jett is a badass. But I really believe he is spreading himself thin on the brand and social media front. Either way I think one of the two of them take it but I'm leaning towards a healthy Cooper. Can't forget about Hunter either. Saturday can't come soon enough!

Justin cooper holeshots has a good chance to win motos. Justin cooper gets bad starts he doesn’t come through the pack like jett. Plain and simple

I could see that, despite Jett's successful sx season, there were still a lot of mistakes. Albeit, minor one's, he had the room to make those errors and get away with it, as he was the class of the field.

J-Coop will be closer to Jett outdoors than anyone was in SX, that's for sure.

With McAdoo and Hampshire in there too, I think we're bound to see some entertaining 250 motos.

You can't rule out jmart. Healthy and no missed races he wins last year. I still belive he has everyone covered on speed and if he stays on 2 wheels woth no mechanicals he's the champ this year as well.

Maybe if he was racing, which he’s not

I think Jett has to worry about his brother first. Hunter has the confidence, win streak and health.

In terms of speed jett is the fastest.
Some ppl say j-coop is faster some say jmart. None of them have passed jett and it stay last year, jett pass jcoop a bunch of times, and jmart 4-5times.
Since sx rd2 last year only 1 time jett has been passed and they finish in front of him. And that was colt the race after jett got injuried. He has been passed 3 times and got them back. Jcoop at high point, rj at redbud and mcadoo at indy.
If jett gets decent starts and doesn't crash to much or get injured. He should win. At 18 u would imagine his progress and advancement each season should be more then the other top guys j-coop, hunter and rj

Last year I said that it seemed like neither one of them wanted to win the title, they would go back and forth on momentum.

Cooper had the momentum for sure until his crash at Washougal, it was pretty unfortunate for him because at the time it looked he was just starting to get a solid handle on the momentum.

Jett just won a SX title, he has been racing all year, he's in an age where he develops faster than an older Justin Cooper.

Cooper has been off the bike for a long, long time.

Sorry but it's a big, big upset if Cooper beats Jett straight up when both are healthy and doesn't have any mechanical DNFs.

Cooper was 6 points ahead before Washougal, after Jett had two bad races at Southwick and Millville. Idk if you can call that firmly...
Either way, I'm rooting for Hunter to beat both of them. I mean Jett's brother

I hope it's a knock down drag out battle all summer! Jett has to be riding a wave of confidence and Justin has to be feeling like he has something to prove. I think Forkner might have something to say as well not to mention Hunter, JMart and RJ. It should be good!

I like Jett, he is fast, but, I think he got a little reindeer shit gift by switching coasts this year. Hunter damn near won the west coast title, not sure Jett would have done much better than 4 wins against Craig this year. If Hunter was east coast like it was originally planned I think the roles would be reversed between the brothers with Hunter the Champ this year. I also think Jett needs a couple more years in 250s before he goes to the 450s but what do i know.

That said i’m super pumped to see all the racing, I like most all the riders because i’m a fan but usually I pull for more the underdogs like Shimoda and Hunter!

One thing is for sure if Jett is the "generational" talent that a lot of people argue he is, this summer is the time it will show through. I will not be surprised if his cream rises to the top this year.

Had Colt Nichols not gotten hurt, I think he would've been the 250 west region champion.

I agree on Colt, Mav, I think that was the biggest impact to the west coast series for sure!

Love watching Jett ride, he doesn't waste energy with unnecessary movement (hello Max Vohland). I just want some good racing and a good championship battle. We were lucky last year with great series battles

I think I'd prefer Jett over Justin Cooper, which probably means that Cooper will win it. Grinning

I agree 100%. Cooper has peaked and hauls ass, Jett is on his way up and appears to have much more in him. He hasn’t reached his peak just yet.

I'm just excited to see them all race. I hope its good battles all summer. I think Jett will probably take it but JCoop, Hunter, RJ (speed wise just needs to stay up), Mosiman (Same as RJ), Forkner are all going to be fast. Then you still have all the new star yamaha guys. Hopefully Kitchen gets going that guy looked crazy good last year of amature racing. Should be good racing all season. But thats what I say every year and after about 3 weeks half these kids are beat up.

Donut Boy is a great ambassador for the Sport and he is an exceptional talent period!

A box of Donuts to the OP if Jett wins this Championship.
