Going through some old moto stuff and deciding what to keep and what not. I know it’s not cool to wear these anymore and don’t really care honestly but who still runs the old style chest pros? You know… the extra beefy ones that provide the most protection and also make you feel like tin man at times.

I wear the atlas but I wouldn't have an issue wearing that. Lot better than nothing or these flimsy under jersey ones.

I always wear one. I have a friend, a very fast A rider, who crashed at low speed while riding a back yard track. The bike fell over on him at low speed and one of the foot pegs severed his spine. Paraplegic at 26 years old. I was involved in a large first turn pile up years ago. After the moto, I noticed my chest protector had a huge foot peg gouge right over the spinal area, plus a big burned/melted area, which otherwise would have been on my back.

I make my kids wear those style chest protectors. I stopped wearing that style when I had to get a new one and chose to get the new Fox style protectors from Cycle Gear for $50. Only reason I don’t wear the older style

I have a couple 90,s fox chest protectors. I need a new 1 does fox make them yet ? If not I,ll get the hrp one. There shoulder pads only come in black. You should be able to paint them right ?

I used to wear a TLD one but it broke my collar bone and I haven’t used it since..

Damn. That's horrible. Honestly, I've never worn one before in my 10 years of riding and after reading that I'm gonna buy one and never ride without one again.

Always do, it has helped me from taken direct hits to the body from bikes and other things like trees n rocks. Preferably ones with decent shoulder protection padding.

I have a fox one, never used to until a 450 zinged a golf ball sized rock into my chest and it knocked the air out of me out of nowhere, was sore for like a month.

Wear my Ufo Shield One since forever. The newer stuff is thiner and smaller and I don't like that.

Before my RXR I typically wore the flimsy under jersey deflectors. It puzzles me why more riders don’t better protect their chest and back. I had a practice crash and took a handlebar to my kidney area last year that sidelined me for a couple months. That helped me discard the “look cool” mentality and invest in better protection.

I love mine…it’s lightweight, fully adjustable and I really like that the protection covers lower stomach/lower back. I feel safe in it. And it looks good. The air pressure can be adjusted as well although I never touch mine. Can’t speak to neck brace compatibility. I wear my RXR with a kidney belt as well and feel pretty darn safe out there.

I've tried everything from the Millsaps donut, to the A star neck brace, and every other one under the sun. I now go with the fox under jersey foam, or on a rocky track the Fox plastic chest protector, or nothing at all. I actually prefer nothing unless it's a race day. I don't like feeling cramped on the bike.

I wear a RXR with my Leatt (I’m over the age of 30) not worried about cool points on protection.. front and back protection

Used to have one of those 661's, and I think a No Fear before that, that's how long ago it was haha.

Have a Leatt 4.5 over the jersey now because I look like a goon anyway so may as well have some protection... With how fast a lot of people are nowadays I can't believe skipping decent protection for style points is still a thing.

I wear a Leatt chest protector and neck brace. It’s not the CE rated one, but it’s definitely helped me out in a few crashes at this point. Like others have said, I’m past the point of trying to look cool.

I still rock a full sized chest pro. I race Hare Scrambles so I'm quite often leaning it against trees. Generally I practice without one but I haven't gone to the line without a chest protector.
