Cooper Webb just posted an update: "Quick update for you guys. Ended up with a bone contusion to the shoulder and fracture of the 2nd metacarpal. I get paid to race, so I’ll see you in Indy"

I was wondering how the fuck he ended up with nothing broken after he caught Chase's frame to his hand. Then of course, the whole "doing laps with an invisible sling" thing.

I take that quote a different way.... as in... when someone above my pay grade says I will race, i race.... dude really isn't in the title hunt.. and he has to be hurting big time... but who knows.. maybe he is just that core...

Yeah right....he's being "pushed" into it. lol.

Just like he was when he came back after that gnarly Arlington dragons-back crash in 2020... I'd say he was hurting worse for that one.

The quote fits Webbs history/mindset...as in "Never give up". Tomac could get hurt and Webb, Anderson and Sexton are right back in the hunt.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings....

I was going to say the exact same thing. Webb is doing this knowing that if something happens to Eli, this championship is almost new again. A couple of mediocre races while he heals, could have him very well in the mix in the end should something happen to Eli. Do I think Eli will have issues at that level? Probably not, but if I was Webb, I would say it is worth the effort, these careers are way too short not to try.

He's been there. Webb won the 2016 250 outdoor championship toughing through a similarly fractured carpal and passing Jeremy Martin in points from a sizable deficit after Martin had a mechanical DNF at High Point.
