I just rewatched his crash, he left a torso and a helmet mark on the ground when he fell. Concussion, ribs or shoulder, or just getting the wind knocked out is what it looks like. Hopefully just winded, 21 makes the racing better.

What was being said to Ando as he was walking off the track by the white haired dude in a monster jacket? Ando looked pissed when he responded to that guy.

To me the most interesting aspect of the whole Anderson crash was the fact he took off his helmet sitting right next to the track. Not sure why you would do that unless you weren’t thinking clearly or you felt like your head hurt. Between riding into the tuff blocks at low speed and the helmet thing he was out of it I think.

I’m not sure why the OP was so downvoted for this topic… I just got around to watching the race and this is the exact question I had. After the replay of him getting up and essentially not even being able to ride the bike in a straight line left me wondering what the hell happened.

I have felt the urge to get my helmet off very quickly when my head was hurting/ringing like a sumbish. Not everytime I hit it, but enough times to remember the urge.

Definitely not a bike issue. He looked out of it once he was done and made no effort to even look in direction of the bike. Seemed like getting the helmet off was very important to him and usually don’t see that either when I guy just crashed. Very bizarre incident.

Your head has more fluid to cushion your brain in front/ rear impacts. The sides of the head do not and simple side impacts can have devastating consequences.
Luckily he was wearing a helmet?

Yep, sure are. Except for the two best helmets made, Arai and Shoei.

I dont even know how this thread was even needed to be started. It was obvious what happened. Lost the front. Slow hard hit to the head. Dazed and disoriented. Rode over 3 jumps and fell over. Anderson was concussed

Head or Body injury, it's hard to tell, we're just guessing at this point

The voting system is mostly pointless. There’s jackasses on here that’ll downvote free beer..

He thought he was Justin Hill, maybe. Couldn't figure why he'd be at a track, dressed to race. Got out of there as quick as he could.

Does the Airoh that anderson wears have MIPS?
The times 2 I’ve been knocked out with were a Fly F2 MIPS, and Fox V2 fluid inside. Both good helmets. It’s just a venerable spot the side.
Had rag dolls with faster slide hits to the head as well and never gone out or even close.

Shoei has a pretty innovative way to handle rotational impacts, none of us know if it works better or worse than MIPS, 6D, or rheon tech.

I noticed that as well. My guess was the ama fussing at him for taking his helmet off on the track.

Well Shoei claims that it reduces rotational acceleration by 15% whereas MIPS claims to reduce rotational acceleration by 30% and they have the results to back it up so take that as you will

Arai is worse than outdated, their so called safety technology is incredibly stupid and makes the helmet perform much worse.

Or did it look more like this:

Most lists like those are put together in a short amount of time with very little/no research into the protective qualities of the helmets. They usually serve as advertising and they're presented as a list instead of a ranking. Also if you're reading an American list they're highly unlikely to include the Airoh because as far as I'm aware even the new Aviator 3 is not DOT certified and as a result they're not sold in the USA. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Ahh yes the Italians. Known for their technical achievements in…helmet safety? Sorry bro but you will never convince me that Jason/Justin wouldn’t have been better off...

Sorry bro but you will never convince me that Jason/Justin wouldn’t have been better off in a 6D ATR-2 or a Fly Formula.

Also what does the country that the brand is from have to do with it? By extension are Alpinestars and Just1 also bad helmets?
Because fuck yeah Merica!

I love that Vital will argue about helmets. Everyone knows people but the one that looks coolest to them. That’s why Bieffe never caught on, I think maybe one guy in Alaska thought those looked good.
