Into the future. This is the next 10 year run SX broadcast team combo if you will.
We all know where RC’s post SX/MX career has taken him and his path to get into the booth. His delivery(overall) is beginning to match his unmatched talent / determination on a dirt bike and Blair is the perfect “vehicle” to draw that out of him.
Not a whole lot of people (by and large) know Blair’s path outside of Northern California.
An extremely articulate / well rounded…heck, I can’t find the podcast, but I’m 99% sure he was on the debate team in High School! If I’m wrong on that, I could still see him doing that.
He’s also an individual who’s explored the wild side with his band days as a lead singer which certainly helped develop his prowess and calm / confident ability behind the mic we see today.
That’s just part of why his transition to the Arena-cross broadcast team was seamless and that (minor-league) experience has benefited him in SX broadcasts too over the years: RDL, track reporter, post race press conferences, blair’s breakdown, play by play recently, etc.
A little more about Blair 7 years ago.
As frustrating as it was to watch RC go from track reporter to color analyst in the booth and working with at least 4 different “play by play” announcers, Blair and RC were destined for this.
Plus, they can look each other right in the eye. 🤓 Motocrossers look like jockeys or soccer players as Jim McKay (ABC Wide World of Sports nod) used to say.
That is all. Looking forward to Blair and RC’s band going on the SX tour (long term) whenever that date is announced.
I can listen to almost anyone, but do wish they would choose BROADCASTERS who have good mastery of the language, maybe ones who are trained and accomplished.
Since Ralph left, I'm not even sure which bikes are Kawasakis, but I did learn that Honda is running works bikes.
Atleast Ralph knew which color was associated to each manufacturer.
Or, you don't like the guy. Rhetorical...

Rickys a legend - in riding, but not commentating.
Ever heard of John Madden? Dick Vitale? Joe Garajiola?
Some of the greatest were reactionary, raucous characters that made the event more exciting. John Madden, unquestionably the greatest to ever cover an NFL game in 70ish years..rarely completed a sentence.
