My eyes are still bloodshot and I have a major sore throat today. Something was going on for sure.

I’m 99% sure I got it. I went into the stadium about 6:45am, did not leave the stadium once until about 8pm. In between practice and night show, I got super tired, eyes were blood shot, throat was killing me, voice was gone and I couldn’t breathe at all. After the heat race I almost called it a night from how bad I felt. Sitting on the gate I felt like my vision was even blurry.

It was really bad, I hardly slept last night from not being able to breathe and my eyes hurting so bad.

thats insane. was there not enough ventilation in the stadium or what? never been to minny but man that sounds rough.

That’s crazy hope you don’t have any long term effects as that can be some serious shit.

I think the big problem was a lot of people were starting their bikes in the pits “in the tunnel” and a lot of even had our fuel in there. And about 10ft from my little pit area, was the tunnel to the track so from my pit I was about 20ft max from the turn where Forkner and Nicoletti collided. So fumes coming, bikes running, fuel in the tunnel, etc just made for bad bad air. It was very stagnate air down there, no breeze or anything. Not fun

Wasnt it Minn a few years ago that the fire marshall was busting teams outside with fuel tanks being not in the right spot or something? sorry I am lean on details, I just remember some issue with fire marshall, and maybe it wasnt Minn??

I was sitting in the 200 and 300 sections from around 1130-7pm yesterday and I felt super stuffed up this morning and still have bloodshot eyes. I figured it was from smoking weed, but that has me thinking.

I did not see or feel any of that yesterday but I did go outside several times (not for that reason). I also saw some people with bloodshot eyes and actually talked to Justin at the end of the night and he looked and sounded terrible.

Interesting. I felt like shit when I got home too. Bloodshot eyes. Didn’t sleep well. I blamed it on my walk to/from home which was about an hour each way. Good to know we were all in the same boat

The symptoms sound a lot like acute exposure to organic chemicals, and obviously there us overlap with CO exposures. I think the pro race fuel has lacrimatory components, hence the blood shot eyes.

I can't comprehend how bad the race fuel smells when doing the pit walk in years past. Just one bike with a bit of the stuff in the tank can stink the house out.

Was there with a group of 25 people. Every single one of us had blood shot eyes and sore throats this morning. During qualifying my eyes were burning. Knew something was up before the racing even started. Still had a great time though, love live Supercross racing.

I remember how sick I would get back in my NW days during Arena Cross. When it was super cold it was always way worse. I know it was very cold yesterday at the race.

This is a Big reason I’ll only go to outdoor motocross and Supercross events. I work with a torch every day, and I’m a little extra sensitive to carbon monoxide/exhaust fumes.

I was there all day too. Started feeling bad last night and today I’m all stuffed up, blood shot eyes. Thought I might’ve caught a bad cold or the Rona but I’m thinking it’s this now.

I know of some fairly large shops that will turn off the disconnects to the exhaust fans when it's cold outside because they think it's too expensive to heat the fresh air.... Totally possible that the system was disabled because of some idiot maintenance worker that doesn't know better. Also possible that they don't have sensors in the affected areas. I went on a call last Sunday to a retirement village, said they smelled gas in the kitchen. I didn't smell gas in there so I went to the boiler room, I about passed out when I opened the door. It was sooting bad, I asked the maintenance guy where the CO alarm was, he pointed on top of a glycol tank. It was removed from the wall and the batteries were pulled out...
