Someone asked Corey from Dirt Wurx about it on his instagram, and this was his response.

How do you determine whether you make dozer whoops or loader whoops?
corey100
@strap_assassin_1 the dirt condition. Wet soft dirt gets dozer whoops harder drier dirt gets loader whoops.
its_crusha
@corey100 could you tell us why and what’s the difference? Said it’s wet but what about the dozer means you need to use it for the wet dirt? Interesting!
corey100
@its_crusha cuz when u make whoops u put in a flat 2 foot pad then cut down and flip up to make the whoop. When it’s wet the loader weighs so much that it makes big ruts in the pad. Which in return u can’t keep the loader level so when u make the whoop the cutting edge on the loader isn’t level making the whoops impossible to make flat on top. The dozer is used because it doesn’t sink into the pad and is able to push up the whoop and make it level. The dozer also has a 6 way blade so even if the dozer isn’t level u can make the blade level. The loader doesn’t have that luxury.
Pit Row
With the resources available to these guys, the dirt is no excuse. You can’t truck in a couple of extra loads just for the whoops?
Only soft wet dirt available? You can’t add a 2% cement pug mix?
If this continues, looks like the 250 east guys got a break.
Or is this a classic vital troll situation
We see the same conversation every year about the whoops when we get to the east coast. The whoops are just more difficult to make when the dirt is softer.
