Not sure what he’s going through but I hope he can get his stuff together and make a comeback.

What a shit show... honestly... a freaking shit show! If you walked into that place, found your engine in a box and didn't leave with it in your grimey hands...... you deserve to loose it forever... WTF!

They are still there, go back to the 27th. If those are the pictures you were talking about

Good on you for trying but whichever member it was made a huge mistake in my opinion. You don't take advantage of a guy sticking his neck out for you and then leave him hanging like that. Hope it wasn't the dude across the pond that wanted so badly to get $3,500 worth of motor and labor back.

My wall hanger 04 has a Varner motor, but I also had a buddy that had to call non stop to get his motor back.

Holy crap, I have a better shop in my 2 car garage. And half the time I don’t know what the hell I’m doing working on bikes. Hope everyone gets their issues resolved somehow.

I’m not kidding when I’m saying the guys lost it. There’s some serious issues here. Going from what he was to that. He really should seek some psych help and try some meds to get him straight. Good god maybe adderall would clear his mind up. Seems like he has no ability to focus.

I had Varner do 2 250f engines for me , he did it in a timely manner , and the engines were great.
I read a few Google reviews , but thought, well it’s a hard business. Sent motor
Then of course was ripped off.
Point is the best thing anyone can do is goto Google reviews and Facebook and yelp. And write a review.
It was 3 stars at the time, and I believe still is. If it was 1 or 2 I would have thought twice and dug deeper hopefully finding this thread.
I of course posted reviews on all of those you all should do the same

So is the MX industry in general keeping this tight-lipped? I’ve never seen a thing about this until this thread.

From what I’ve read here and elsewhere, he’s been careful to make sure any key industry folks have been well taken care of, while stiffing folks who don’t have the leverage and reach that they do.

Looks like Pastrana must not be familiar with the Varner situation?

When on the recent WTS he brought up having engines done by Varner...shame to see the free lip service, but then I'm sure Travis is one of the key industry folks he keeps happy. I was wondering if Ping might pry a bit into TP's relationship with Varner but that would have been counter productive to the situation as I'm sure TP would have said something like "never had an issue with Terry and he builds some fast motors".

It appears he has some type of addiction problem. I could be totally wrong but I’ve seen this happen before. People with addictions don’t care about anything or anyone and will do whatever it takes to get their fix. Like I said it’s just my opinion and I could be wrong but when I first read this thread that was the first thing I thought of.

Varner and Pastrana go back more than 20 yrs. We were doing motors for TP back in 98/99 at FMF already.

It's really sad to see where he ended up. Terry was a awesome dude and would go out if his way to share knowledge with myself, James and Brent. He would take us deep sea fishing, buy the chow and beers...i really looked up to him.

I don't condone the way he has been running his business. Its unethical to say the least but one thing I know for sure is that since his son passed he started to come apart.

He needs to get on the wagon and make right with all you guys. Big Donny E is about the only person that Varner will listen to....and here's hoping he will step in and help a old friend before it's too late.

Believe it’s a razor motor and was someone’s from Arizona that was supposedly driving down to pick it up, that’s how I got him to open the door as soon as he did that I told him I wasn’t the guy from Arizona.

Lots of us have lost a child (son 2019) but its not something you start shitting on people for.
And saying it was the death of his son i just dont know about that personally. I guess we all grieve differently but if you already had an alcohol/drug problem it might be your only coping mechanism. This leads me to my next question.
Didnt i read on here one time something about he got in trouble for endangering a child or dui or something like that for letting his 10 year old son drive him around/home because he was drunk? I am not trying to start a bad rumor and i was hesitant to bring it up but fuck it im curious.
I maybe have this totally fucked up but i remeber something on here i thought. Anyone else know? It was several years ago.

Pretty sure XPR is the one doing Alessi's work.

Varner did do some work for one of the magazines in the last year. Can't remember which one it was, but it was for a bike build.

I believe that was him, although I think it was an acquaintance/friends son/etc. something about Varner being drunk and having the kid drive.

That picture of the shop (and his appearance) scream drug and/or alcohol issues.

If it’s because of his son, I hope someone close to him can get him back on track. For all the bravado of “if I lost a kid I still wouldn’t screw people,” good for you. You could be right or horribly wrong. Everyone handles tragedy differently.

Even those of you who have-first I am truly sorry, and second, you still can’t say because you’re not him and he’s not you.

I lost my sister and watched my parents…mom was never the same. She started a slow decline that in hindsight, she never recovered from, although she hid it well. I was fine…until I wasn’t, years later.

Terry has screwed a lot of people, which is horribly wrong. But to say he’s got no excuses…well, I think that’s a bit ridiculous. No parent should bury their kid. Ever.
