For you who know HIMYM, this is basically Roczen on a SX track.




Yeah i'm obviously exaggerating a bit but this is how he rides and races SX. His awareness of his surroundings in SX is just not up to the required standard, especially in the current era where the tracks are relatively simple and biggest differences in speed seems to be in the whoops. The passes for lead positions are going to be with small margins. You can't ride like he does if you're not completely alone with nobody close to you.

Roczen left the door open, it was naive, and he should know better. Having said that, Anderson was not in front when they collided, and I don’t think he needed to make as much contact as he did. It was a little greasy IMO but Roczen needs to focus on what he did wrong in that scenario rather than what Anderson did to him

They ain’t racin for plastic trophies…they’re racing for $$$! Call it what you want to…but if I was Anderson, and was on a move for a podium, and a rider…any rider, left the door open like Kenny did…I would’ve done the same.

I'm German and I'm Kenny fan. He took the outside line laps before and I guess it was faster but sand is just like it is. The berms change from lap to lap and slowly move to the outside of the corner. Finally the inside line collided with the outside line and then this happends. When you look at the first lap the inside line looked completely different.
But I still think it was his fault not to protect the inside line. He must have heard Anderson the corner before.
But my initial thougt was:"Can somebody tell Anderson he is not riding 250s and that Honda doesn't have #14." 😅

Put yourself in Anderson’s shoes. If you had a $100,000 bonus on the line there, would you have backed off and to let Ken through? The rider on the inside controls the corner. The sooner Ken learns that, the happier he’ll be.

All of the top 8 or so riders were in Anderson's shoes going into this race. Yet Anderson is the one who's been involved in a "racing incident" at every round this year. Anderson had the speed to pass Ken clean within another lap or so and still had 15min to make it happen so no reason to press the issue.

While I -am not- arguing the point, Jason -did- enter the turn BEHIND Kenny and he certainly exited it ahead of him; but, what I saw was this...

Jason "Blew Thru" the inside line & into Kenny's line & he certainly did it a helluva lot faster than Kenny had any plans for...in other words...I don't think the hit was on purpose; but, Jason was flying in there so damn hot that he...they...had to have known it was one of the "possible outcomes".

And...Yes! Kenny went wide and invited the Inside Intrusion.

However, Jason...CONSTANTLY...goes wide in what has been the True 1st Turn on these 2022 tracks: Jason seems to ALWAYS be on the outside of "The 2nd Turn" which ultimately is the "1st Real Turn" of the Main and it makes me Nervous as hell. Why? Because, he's -constantly- outside allllll sorts of guys that are likely to do a "Jason" to him!

Definitely looks like a huge punt, but wasn't particularly egregious.

1. They were both really loose in the sand
2. Both riders moved towards each other as the lines converged.
3. Anderson clearly had a wheel on Kenny.

Racing incident, imo.

I didnt think it was a takeout but if Anderson said that was his intention then I guess thats what it was.

In that case, Kenny owes him one. I think even if it wasnt intentional from last night Kenny owes him one after racing incidents 2 weeks in a row that really hurt Kennys championship hopes. Kenny probably could have finished at least 4th the last two weeks if not 3rd but instead finished way back.

It's not a great look for Anderson but he probably thought that whoever was behind him was bound to be going inside if he followed Kenny outside.. So he couldn't follow and he couldn't brake cause, well it was a fast 90 degree sand corner!

All day guys going inside were washing the front and not getting through the section cleanly. The previous laps of the main, everyone at the front, bar Mookie, was going outside.

It was the fast line at the time, because going inside risked loosing the front or blowing through the corner, which is exactly what Anderson did.
You can’t criticise Roczen for taking the racing line, and you can’t criticise Anderson for going for it. However, it was a risky move and Roczen paid the price for Anderson rolling the dice. It doesn’t seem fair, but hard racing rarely is.
That is exactly what I saw as well. Was gonna post about it but you said it better.

He didn't really say that he intended to take him out, in fact it sounds like the opposite:
"I've honestly kinda been reading everything wrong all day on the track... it's a bummer because I enjoyed the battle, and should have made a better pass."

I know it was worse than a tipover here, but what is it about Kenny where he finishes in the teens even after a tipover? We know he has drive, because there's absolutely no way you could become him without an utterly insane amount of drive, but....it sure seems like that drive gets zapped more than anyone else when anything goes wrong. We all know how important your bad days are when it comes to winning a championship and it seems like, unless everything goes absolutely perfect for an entire season, he could never win a championship again unless he fixes that.

If Anderson keeps taking those chances……I think it will be tough to win the championship. Yes….the pass was good and a racing incident 100%. But…..Anderson can’t take those chances. He could have went down or developed a mechanical failure due to the contact. Awesome to watch and exciting as hell but the risk of making a pass like that might not be worth reward. McGrath was careful and consistent and it helped him win the championships. Since I’m an Anderson fan, I want him to take it easy a little.

Remember the season with Sealy and Anderson fighting for the championship? He rides aggressively and it works most of the time. He made the races exciting but some of the passes could have gone bad.

He’s loose on the bike which makes him exciting to watch. Roczen needs to adapt to the aggressiveness that is a part of this years season. He rides friendly and this isn’t a friendly season.
