Fuck, I ran into him at an Albany practice last season and he let me take his brand new Kawi 250f (that he literally just picked up that day at Motosport Hillsboro) out for a rip because I was thinking about buying one. I came in after a couple laps and he's ripping a huge bong hit in the van waving at me to go back out and get more laps on his bike.I was like, you sure Stank? He's all Bro, go ride it and see if you really like it. Dudes a stud rider and generous AF. I did go buy a new Kawi that week as a result. Does he see himself ride? He's better than 99% of the riders in here but his skills compared the rest of the field look terrible. If he thinks he's faster on a 125 than on a 250f, he needs to re-evaluate his career

It’s just really strange behaviour. I get he was pumped and the adrenaline was probably still flowing at the time he had his rant, but it’s just an odd thing to do. Surely part of the reason he’s riding a 125 is for the challenge of trying to put it in the main, which we all, including Steinke, acknowledge is difficult to do. How can you then lose your shit at someone for saying it will be tough for you to make it? Especially when Matthes has said multiple times that he actually thinks he’ll make a main. They could be forgiven for not mentioning him at all, he’s a complete non factor. What a weird guy
