Good point.

And for the record, I don’t really care what displacement the bike actually was/is, it was still a great effort to qualify against the 250Fs.

I had a feeling that he was done when it sounded like he was trying to hit 20K RPM after he qualified. I thought it was a pretty silly thing to do if he was going to need to run a main event with that engine, but sort of assumed that he’d already proved his point and finished his night.

Stank did awesome to put 125 in the main. I watched him at Milleville in 2020 run about 20-23 both Motos and never gave up. Watching him light up on the Gypsy interview really made me think twice about cheering for him. It's cool that he makes his own choices but I have often wondered what that does to his sponsor bas. Husky and Pro Circuit would have been great but I'm sure Mitch would not get on board with that.

Why does everyone keep saying he didn’t line up, he rode at least half the race then pulled off for some reason. You can speculate all you want but don’t make things up that’s aren’t true. . .

Yeah, I stand corrected. I should have been clear about not really starting to ride as far forward as possible.

But I’m glad that he got as much airtime as he did and at least brought attention to the 2 stroke in general. I can’t say that I’m a big fan of his, nor do I dislike him, but he definitely generated exponential buzz over what he would have if he would have been on a 250F.

I just think the whole thing is funny, including how salty everyone (mainly hard-core Matthes followers) gets. Gared put a 125 in in the main in 2022. That's awesome. And it's not the same as early 00s, as it's much more difficult now (obviously.) So good on him. As far as the drama, I don't care 1 way or the other.
