Insane, the bike looks so good! Best looking KTM if you ask me. Can't wait for the 2023 2-stroke line-up.

Massive updates.
At least “on paper” (and interest/effort from the factory) they are leaving the other brands in their wake.

Looks like the seat has one bolt in the front for removal.

It acually gained weight for this model, 226lbs without fuel for the 450

Does seem odd though to see an increase in weight.
The frame is probably heavier.
"Also, the wall thickness of the frame has been optimized to achieve improved reliability and specific rigidity in high stress areas such as the steering head and the shock mounts".

What part is so much heavier that overall weight is up 3kg from 2022 if they say engine, swingarm, subframe and so on are lighter?

The new subframe is actually heavier than the old one...

The video showed a thing with the pointy rad shrouds - that at the top, front edge, it angles inward, so it looks like the tip of the shroud just clears the fender, at full lock, by little more than that renowned engineering term : a "poofteenth".

That might allay some fears I read about it being able to catch on a boot, by the more limber riders out there.

Looks far better than the few sneak peeks I saw. Even the Orange seat........ It will be interesting to see the KTHusky FE. The KTGGs, I think I read, are staying the same / well, not having an 'FE' .

Personal opinion - rather a Blue seat matching the factory racing team colours/logo

They are really losing me with the Poly subframe. In the offroad world, I have seen too many broken Husky subframes and before that, GasGas subframes to feel good about having one.

I just bought a 22 250 XC to hold me over until the '23's got here but now, I'm not sure.....

Man, this thing is an engineering marvel with so many cool bits and you guys are just like: It‘d be much cooler if that part was green instead of blue…
What’s wrong with you guys? You sound like girls talking about which color they‘re painting their toe nails…

Exactly, easy to fix those items if you dont like them. Some dudes in here would complain if you handed them a stack of money. New technology is awesome.

It looks like they have aluminum where the poly subframes would fail and plastic where the aluminum sub frames bend. It may be better than either the old plastic or aluminum subframes.

How were those aluminum subframes holding up on the Kawasaki? Hoping the new design works better on this generation.

Can’t wait to hear how that new engine runs, no goofy computer on the bars?
I wasn’t sure about the new look until I saw swaps video of the bike, that really shows how bad ass it actually looks in my opinion.
Any news about a Husky intro????

Anyone else notice the hand adjustable low & high compression on the shock? Awesome.

New footpeg mount ? ( maybe )
New handlebar mount ( unsure if mako360 will carry over )
New clutch cover, hard to know on this one.

Still be worth hanging onto my 21 waiting for the 23 I reckon.
Clutch cover appears to be different

In person, the new frame with it's "triangulated" shock mount certainly looks 'beefier' and heavier. Motor mount and a few other parts appear thicker, too.

This will be the best KTM to date and you’re going to buy a Kawasaki because they came out with an SR model ? Unsure

100%. I have cone valves on my KTM FE and the stock 2019-2020 KX forks are better. I get to ride both every weekend. Far safer going faster on the Kawasaki. It’s a “factory edition” again. Does the Factory run the same shock and fork?
I don’t have it in me to debate your opinion on the forks, but I wish you luck
I did chuckle when I read that too. I've ridden a number of KXF450s and their stock forks aren't even the same league as the CVs that I'm running on my GasGas. Suspension is such subjective thing though. Just my humble opinion :-)

Have they talked about HP numbers of the 250 in those presentations? I just heard rumors of very impressive number..

I’ve ridden multiple sets of CV that did not work great, or even good. It’s all in the setup, but you can’t deny the quality of the components is a pretty high spec, compared to any regular “production” spec fork.
I’d rather not have my suspension adjusters changeable by hand. My MTB buddies love to fuck with my bike suspension when I’m not looking!!

I haven’t seen it and they don’t even talk about it on current bikes either. The shorter stroke should allow them to raise the rev limit quite a bit so it will be a screamer. It may get snappier throttle response out of that too.

Thanks!
I don’t know what they claimed for the engine, but if 47 is any near the true output that’s very impressive.

Time for some real sketchy math:

KTM claims 63hp at the engine for their 450 (they have for a few years I believe) and it makes 57hp at the rear wheel (vitalmx numbers). This is roughly a 10% loss.

Take 10% off of 47 is and we get 42.3hp. The old 250 engine made 40.7hp according to vitalmx, so this is a 1.6hp increase at the wheel.

They say only the front wheel and handlebars are the same as before on the 450. I don’t think that has happened in a while at Ktm, usually it’s a new frame or motor but not both at once.
