in a beaker of gasoline.
I dont remember what the lesson was but after starting brush piles with gasoline, I knew I was never going to try it.
Remove any 1 of the 3 and there is no fire
...or add the missing element to the other 2 elements and there IS an ignited fire or the high potential of one ... as that video doesn't portrait as it is not moving(adding) enough air or oxygen.
Well regarding the pic maybe he never even had the fag alight anyway.
My close friend was topping up his genset with gasoline with a smoke in his beak. I warned him of the possible dangers. He reckoned nope, a cigarette cannot start a fire.
I mentioned yeah its been known to stub a smoke out in gasoline without dire consequences. I started telling him about fuel vapour....
......i wasn't even finished preaching and WOOOOOOF...a cloud of flame scortched his hands, arms, face and eye brows shivelled up.
Don't fuck around trying to the man....it can come back to bite you.
He is a believer now.. People do it all the time but it just takes that one perfect moment and things can go wrong quickly.
Why risk it?

... to elaborate further- is an old Classic car restorer here aged like 70 years old, he has seen years and decades of experience- is a neighbour- told me similar horror stories with petrol- not just fires but kind of explosions even- mixing the air is the big one. Ain't just a fire but like an explosion, its the rising vapours.
When cars crash etc... fuel tanks catch alight... isn't so much the initial fire of the fuel burning but its the vapours when the fuel runs out ... then the tanks actually explode- gases/ vapours.
Same as your bike engine, mixing air with fuel and a spark! ... combined with compression to accelerate the air and compress it. Amazed really at the stupidity of those videos. I wouldn't mess with it or test the theory out!
Pouring gas into tank will create rising vapours as Boom has perfectly described and the possible consequences, amazed people have debated this isn't the case (and haven't had a big shock! .. or worse...)
If anyone was at the SoCal Moto tracks during the 70's and 80's they might remember a midget mechanic by the name of Billy Keefer. I know he wrenched for Rick Maki and a few other local fast guys.
He was quite a character and lived in my hometown.
Anyway I was over at his house one day and he was in the backyard working on bikes.
He calmly lit a cigarette with a match and said watch this and threw the match in a bucket of gas that I was standing a few feet away from!
I did not even have time to react and just go what the fuck and he had quite the chuckle.
I'm sure this was a regular prank of his!
But yeah I'm from the old school and I don't fuck around when it comes to gas and Ignition devices.
Remember aged like 7 went to Road race in Kent - England. - Sheene won. He did interview and got me and my sister involved- called us upto him for the interview....sat my Sis aged like 9 on his lap - and put his arms around me and chatted to me as he did the interview- told everyone he was 'my mate' and kept hugging and patting me as he spoke. Was very inspiring as a very young rider myself.
Barry seemed a lovely guy. He was abit like VR46, albeit 1976!
Does anyone else see it? 👀
I do not see a kickstand that is down!
He is is riding that motorcycle side saddle with loafers on a movie set flipping people off!
I don't know about you but riding a big Thumper like that side saddle is something pretty badass!

Man- the speed they were hitting some of those bumps on those old bikes- amazing really.
Remember also Dave Bickers son, Paul, he was fast in like the mid 80's, think he had an exotic Mugen or maybe kit back in the day.
Also remember Vic Eastwood's lads- Mark and Scott. Raced them both a few times- similar regions.
Mark got very fast as he grew up, becoming a serious quick GP rider and contender.
Those Vic Eastwood Hagon framed bikes were very cool and exotic from back in the day, love these ex. riders with resources and shops who would mod bikes to their own specs back then!
