It has been entertaining to hear of all the comments regarding the World Vet race. I raced it a few times, and was quite disappointed to have not attended this year.

So for Vet racers that want to race a great series, we have the RacerX / Frescados Senior Motocross. We race from July through Sept.

The highlight event is VetFest at Red Bud. We have averaged 850 riders for the last two years. Nearly as many as World Vet. Track is prepped, watered, well managed, and super fun. Not to mention wonderful facility.

This series is only for vet riders. We have classes from 25 to 70 and everything in between. Check us out at MXVETS.COM

Problem: these are all east coast tracks, nothing out west in this series

I’ve raced both, and Vet Fest is 10x the event. Best run race I’ve ever done.

Only big vet race I do is the High Point Homecoming. I love it, but all of my friends that also do the Redbud Vet Race say it is a must-do. Heard it was fantastic. I'd like to do that race at some point.

Usually mid-Sept. It has really gotten bigger the last few years. It's not as big as Redbud or GH but still is fun. There are no money classes or anything. But a lot of the guys I know that do the High Point race, also do Redbud and they say that's it's awesome.

Vet Fest at Red Bud is great but it’s out grow the Friday/Saturday format. Needs to be Friday thru Sunday. None the less it’s awesome event and somewhat laidback. My 8 year old had a blast even though he didn’t ride.

Some Wi. Riders 20 some yrs ago raced the Highpoint race. Then they started The Racer X Vet series the next yr. Millville was a round also in the past. Red Bud is the biggest round. Another Mi. Track , 2 in iL., 1 round in Wi. They need to add a 125 points class . In 09 Aztalan wi. Had 38 125,s.

In Australia vet class starts at 35, being 34 and sitting on the line beside 18 year olds sucks and it's at that time I think vet should start at 30 but then that just starts adding classes. 35 is a good age to start vet racing

I agree when I was 30 and racing against 16-20 year olds with no job or kids, still think they are going pro (in the novice class) that are similar speed or slower but sketchy and have no concern for taking someone out. I was glad OTHG has 30+ We still get a little rowdy but much more respectful it’s more of a gentle steal your line be a straight up slam you out of the rut 😂

I think it should start at 25 but then progress in 10 year increments.

5 years is literally everyone gets a trophy and everyone gets their very own class made just for them.

More people should be willing to race with different ages. I get not wanting to line up with a 15 year old, but past 25-30+ the responsibility is there and if you’re the same speed - you’re the same speed.

Vet races are becoming the best type of Motocross events! Good people and plenty of seat time for the most part. Mammoth is a good event to hit each year as well as the Washougal Old Timers Race Weekend. Hangtown also has a couple of Vet races worth checking out.

Why? Seems like you have already made your mind up….but classes for 25+ and 30+ keep guys interested and racing where they can be competitive and not racing against 18yr olds.

I had fun. Raced my rickman in the gp race held Saturday at highpoint just for the fun. A lot of cool old bikes there too. I’ll be back next year for sure

Awesome, man. Ya HP is pretty laid back compared to the other 2, but it's still awesome. Like someone else mentioned, Vet events are the best events.

10 yr increments is too much, you'd have 80 guys per class at redbud.

Yeah I agree 50 yrs and up you start seeing a small decrease in physical stuff. Like sprint speed doesn’t last as long. The biggest red Bud class is 50 b then 55b then 45 b. They added a few vet c classes this yr no points for those tho. Possibly adding another track in the racer X vet series. A Iowa track if I remover rt. I think it’s way over due for vet racing to have race teams. The expert classes turn out is much lower than the B classes.

It’s curious that the 50B is one of the biggest classes. I was at Unadilla Rewind and raced 1978-1999 50B and we had 43 guys on the gate.

I think it’s the 50 ish thing at 7 yrs old the cool stuff for us was things with engines. Muscle cars where daily drivers, bikers on harleys cool farm tractors, semis, etc. Then in the 70,s. A lot of people had 2-st endures the older kids you look up to. A 25 yr old now thinks a phone or a computer is cool. Even the music get your motor running get on the highway looken for adventure or what ever comes r way. A 25 yr old thinks popping a cap in someone doing a drive by is cool in a rap song. 50 yr olds dig screaming 125,s or a barking 250. 25 yr olds r worried about there ecu flash and riding lessons. 50 yr olds just want to ride and think a lesson is for learning to play the piano. We scored chics doing wet tshirt contest or hot legs. They get there women on the internet. Haha

Local renegade track used to do a split program, morning having all the 30+ vet classes and the mini classes. It was great. I was in my early 20’s, and all my riding buddies were mid 30’s. I’d race 30+ with them (literally the entire gate were friends and talked me into it. I wasn’t trying to be a douche). I loved riding with those guys. No pressure, just a lot of yelling and banging in corners, and by noonish, we’d be drinking beer watching the fast locals start their program. By the time I turned 30, the track went ama and to a straight program. Was a bit of a bummer sitting around all day, and switched to hare scrambles. Vet racing, if done right is the best. Think I’m going to hit Redbud vet fest next year (hold the rear naked chokes)
